Chapter 6:
I looked at Andy right in the eyes, no I wasn't okay but I couldn't tell him that so I just nodded. His arm went around my shoulders and pulled me closer towards him, he then brought his lips to my ear once again and whispered, "you're not okay." He was one of the first ever people to see right through me which was nice but weird seeing as I had literally just met the guy. I kept my eyes on him and did a little nod once again. He sighed.
"Ashley?" Jay said to me, getting my attention.
"Yes?" I said still looking at Andy.
"Have you changed your mind about the party tonight yet?"
"Nope," I sighed, looking at him this time.
"Well you should." He said bluntly.
"Dude give the girl a break," Nath said.
"Yeah dude," I laughed. Jay looked at me then smirked, a girl walked into the canteen and wrapped her arms around him from behind. "Asha!" He called turning around in her arms and giving her the biggest smile I had ever seen him give someone.
"Hey babe," she smiled back. I was guessing this was his girlfriend.
"Right, sorry guys but I'm stealing Jay from you all," Asha said, grabbing Jay's hand and leading him out of the canteen. Everyone in the canteen made 'ooooh'-ing noises as she lead him out, Nath shouted "don't do anything I wouldn't do" making the whole room erupt into fits of laughter.
"That doesn't leave him much to do does it?" Andy laughed.
"Ohh, we all know how Jay's like," Gina laughed along too.
"Not all of us," I stuck out my tongue.
"Oh yes, Ash here doesn't know how Jay is, maybe we should let her find out in time," he smiled down at me squeezing my shoulders.
"Well if you came to the party tonight you may get an insight on how he really is," Nathan added slyly.
"Subtle Nath, subtle," I laughed.
"Very subtle indeed," Andy laughed along with me.
"Please come, it'd be nice to have another girl there with us," Gina pleaded with her eyes.
"I wouldn't know what to wear even if I did come," I sighed.
"You'd look lovely no matter what you were in," she smiled at me.
"Hmmmm..." I mumbled.
"Come for a walk with me?" she asked standing up. Of course I couldn't say no.
"Yeah sure," I stood up with her and followed her out into the corridor.
"Why don't you want to go to the party tonight?" she asked. That was not what I expected her to ask.
"I just don't..." I sighed. She didn't reply, waiting for me to go on. "It's because I'm not good with new people and I don't know what to wear or how to act."
"You get on fine with all of us and we're all new," she smiled. There was no way I could say no to her now. "Plus I think Andy likes you. I know you've just met and everything but he seems into you."
"Don't be silly, but I'll come then...but I still don't know what to wear," I complained.
"Why don't I come round yours before the party starts, I'll bring Leigh who's lovely and she's good with fashion, then you'll be looking good for the party," she beamed.
"Oh my gosh, thank you!" I flung my arms around her and hugged her.
"What's going on here?" An Irish accent interrupted us.
