"You know how this works, right?"
She chuckled, "I'm not sure I do. But I'm guessing that this is one of those relationships that are purely physical?"
"Exactly."
"Oh." she fell silent for a second and smiled, "Okay."
She shifted to the other side of the bed and opened her eyes only to see James staring at her, "Oh, good morning."
He smirked, "Good morning to you, too." he leaned in and gave her a peck.
"Sexy ah!" he winked as he checked her out.
"Tagal na." She smiled and walked downstairs to prepare for breakfast.
"Oh ano yan?" He said looking at an unfamiliar dish in front of him.
"Champorado." she smiled and ate her food.
"I-i'm not going to eat that!"
She got closer to him, "Ayaw mo talaga?"
He shook his head, "Ayaw."
"Okay." she said leaning in.
He closed his eyes and leaned in as well, she opened her eyes and shoved a spoonful of champorado in his mouth.
He choked slightly, "What the h-hell?"
"Sarap?" she winked.
"James!" she screamed.
He ran into her room, panting and worried "What? What happened?"
She approached him and smirked.
"Wala lang, just wanted to see how fast you'll get here if I really needed your help," she looked down at her stopwatch, "9 seconds flat. Hmmm, not bad!"
"Damn that girl!" he said slamming his beer down against the table.
"Si Nadine na naman ba, pre?" André laughed at his friend's frustration.
"We've been together for 3 months na, bro!"
"Oh, tapos?"
"Nakakainis sobra!"
"Why don't you just break it off?" he smirked.
James sighed.
André chuckled, "Nako, bro. Sabi ko naman kasi sayo eh, iba yan si Nadine."
"She knows how to play the game, Dré. That's why I can't break it off."
André chuckled, "You can't break it off because she knows how to play the game and you to win or because you secretly don't want to?"
"Oh, hi! I didn't expect you to visit me h-" she was cut off by his kiss.
She pulled away, "Wow, sabik masyado?" she chuckled.
He looked at her as she walked closer to him, " Oh, ba't ganyan ka makatingin?"
"Wala."
She wrapped her arms around his neck and placed her forehead on his, "Thanks."
"For what?"
"Kasi sumulpot ka sa buhay ko."
He chuckled.
"Aalis na kasi ako bukas."
His smile disappeared, "San ka pupunta?"
She gave him a quick kiss, "Bakit? Sasama ka?"
He rolled his eyes, "Saan nga?"
"Sa heaven."
"Sa heaven? Is that a euphemism for she's terminally ill and she's going to die?" André asked, completely confused.
He just sighed, "I don't know."
"Do you love her?"
He fell silent . He was always known to be a playboy. In fact, he didn't court anyone, not even Nadine. He asked her to be his girlfriend and she didn't complain. But ever since they've been together, even though she was a pain, he never really noticed that he was truly falling for her.
"Aalis ka na?"
Nadine smiled, "Maya-maya."
"Ah okay."
"Anong gusto mong breakfa-"
"I love you."
She looked at him, "Ano?"
"I don't care anymore okay? Believe me or not, I really do love you. I am so in love with you. I don't know what you've done to me but I like it and I could care less what everyone thinks," he came closer, "All I know is that I can't let you leave without me saying that I am completely in love with you, Nadine. I really am."
She smiled, "Well that's a relief," she walked closer to him and looked him in the eye, "Cause I am completely in love with you too, James. I really am."
He smiled and hugged her tightly. She pulled away,"But I really do have to go."
His smile disappeared, "No. Please don't."
"I have to, James."
"Not yet, please!"
"Di ko naman kasi pwedeng i-cancel yun eh," she said lifting his face up.
"But why not?"
She smiled and cupped his face, "Cause I just can't."
He looked down but she lifted his chin up, "Don't worry, magkikita rin naman tayo soon. I promise." she smiled and gave him a kiss.
He pulled away and was determined as ever.
"I'll bring you to the hospital immediately." he said dragging her to his car.
"I can't, James! I have to go." she frowned slightly.
"But I can't let you die!"
"What? I'm dying?!"
"Didn't you say you were going to heaven?" he frowned.
"Oo nga. Heaven is the name of our company, James. It's in Manila and I'm going to stay there for a while kasi may malaking event dun," she smirked at the realization of what he concluded before, "You thought I was dying so you confessed your feelings for me?"
His face turned red with embarrassment, "Ba't naman kasi heaven yung pangalan?"
"Hay. So if I want you to propose, all I have to do is scare you?" she laughed," Hmm, I should die more often."
"Damn it."
