Boa's POV
"Okay so I want happy Boa tonight. I need you to smile and kiss some ass," my mother said as she fixed my bow tie. "But ma—"
"I know honey, I know. But we that PI looking for him right. So just try not to think too much tonight okay."
"I'll try," I said faking it. This was important to my mom so the least I could do was hide it. "Lord knows Nash is a natural with these kind of events. Would've been a great help if he was here," she said as we walked into the building and presented our invites.
Well it was your usual business talk, fancy talk and rich people talk. Trips to where ever money could take them. Properties on exotic islands and such, got a little boring. I sat by the bar and ordered a drink. Couldn't get drunk because this was important to mom so I can't muck anything up. "You're taking it hard huh?" I heard his voice and honestly I wasn't in the mood for a sparring match. "Can we not do this tonight Ashton?" I asked as I ran my hand over my face.
"I'm sorry. I don't mean to come off petty. I just...I haven't seen this side of you since...well, you know," he said looking down. Come to think of it I treated this guy like shit so I don't blame him for being petty. "I guess it's kind of my fault," I said as he looked at me with an odd smile. "The Boa I knew would never apologize," he said making me chuckle. "That was pre-Nashley Boa. This one stepped up. I should apologize though. The way things were between us. I shouldn't have kept you waiting when things were obviously fizzled out. And for treating you the way I did," I said in all honesty being sincere.
He smiled lightly and offered a hand. "Then allow us to start over. Hi, my name is Ashton Porter." A small chuckle escaped my lips, "Boa Miller," I replied shaking his hand. "What are you even doing here by the way?"
"My aunt is one of those debutants. She needed a plus one and decided her gay nephew would be appropriate," Ashton said finishing off with a Southern accent making me laugh. "We're gonna find him," he said in between my laughs making me simmer down. "I hope so."
On cue the slow jams started and people started dancing in couples. "This reminds me of Black and White dance we had sophomore year," I said recalling memories of me and Nash. "Wouldn't know. I was in my dorm stuffing myself with ice cream," Ashton tried to cover it up with a chuckle but the sorrow was there. It wasn't up until this moment that I realised fuckboy Boa fucked up a few people. I stood up and offered a hand. "Let me make it up to you," I said and waited for him to take it. Hesitantly Ashton took my hand and danced with me.
Nash's POV
I opened my eyes to see I was in a moving car once again. Where we were headed I had no idea but it was getting further and further away from New York. "You okay?" Marciel asked as I gained full consciousness. A scoff escaped my lips as I adjusted myself on the seat. "Like you care," I said as he slapped the steering wheel. "Dammit Nash! I do care! You're too blind to see it. Don't you see? We could be amazing together. You were never truly happy with Boa. I remember that night in the Bahamas."
"That was it! Just a night Marciel! You were a hook up when I was vulnerable and that's all you'll ever be. I never wanted anything serious with you," I said hitting a nerve because he swerved the car so quick I hit my head against the window. "Forgot your seatbelt."
Looking at the road I saw there was no way out of this by playing it safe. I looked at the side of the road which was steep terrain. Obviously leading into woodland. God bless Pennsylvania and its vegetation. I grabbed the wheel swerving us out of the road and into the steep slope. The car moved out of control as we just hit small tree after small tree. We finally came to a halt when we hit a much larger tree which knocked me out.
I stood in the middle of a crowd gathered for some reason. I looked around to see nothing but familiar faces. Uncle CJ, dad, Lacy, Owen, Noriyah but something was off. They were crying, but why? I looked ahead and saw boa standing alone. "Boa," I called out as I ran to him. "Boa I'm here," I said standing beside him but did hear me. "Boa!" he still couldn't hear me. When I tried touching him my hand went right through him. "What?" I tried almost everyone but they didn't see me. When I looked back at Boa I saw he was looking at something. I moved closer slowly. I stood in shock at what I was looking at.
"No," I cried as I saw my dead body lying in a coffin.
My eyes fluttered open slowly. I moved my head first before the pain came shooting through my body. Marciel was out cold still and my eyes caught a glimpse of something. There was gas pumping out of the car. I had to move out and fast. Moving my hand the pain sky rocketed. I felt my head to feel the blood oozing down. Can't say not wearing a seatbelt helped but it did allow me a free access pass out of this car. Pushing as hard as my frail body could I pushed the door open. When I tried to move one of my legs wouldn't. "No no no," I repeated ignoring the pain that came from it. I saw the bar holding my foot still and pulled it. Screaming at the top of my lungs I was finally able to pull it off. I cried. Looking at Marciel I searched him and grabbed his phone. Before I left I slapped him and spat on his disgustingly handsome face.
Limping away from the car it didn't take too long for the car to blow. The impact pushed my body far from it. When I landed I hit something hard, blacking out.Ashton's POV
The following morning reports of a blown up Cadillac hit the news. The description told me immediately it was Marciel's car. Unfortunately I couldn't get to the scene because I was with Boa in his apartment. Apparently he felt ready to go back. When news hit the reporters were quick to put two and two together but the problem was they didn't know whose body it was. It was burnt to a crisp.
Boa sat completely stale faced. "He's been like this all morning," I said to his friends Lacy and Owen who decided to pay him a visit. "Who are you?" Lacy was quick to ask. "I'm the PI they hired to find Nash," I said not looking at her but eyes glued on Boa. I could feel her staring daggers into my soul. "So why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be finding out whose body that is?" she asked catching me with a blind side. "I have people on it right now. They will call me once they have the full scope."
"Hmm."
She kept looking at me with narrow eyes. "I feel like I know you. Just can't place it."
"Does it matter? Lacy look at him," Owen said drawing her attention. She kneeled in front of him, "It's not him."
I looked at my phone impatiently. Dammit Marciel call or text or something. It was later on in the afternoon that Marciel decided to grace me with a text. "Chill. I'm straight."
"What the fuck?! What the hell happened?"
"It was an accident. I got out he didn't."
"Okay so where are you?"
"Still on course."
"Headed to Minnesota still?"
"Might as well. Nothing for me in New York anyway. I'll keep you posted."
I had to kill the smile that was growing on my face when I entered the room. "Um..." I said drawing their attention. "I have some bad news. One of the forensics in Philly confirmed that the body that burned does indeed belong to Nashley," I said right before Boa just fainted. Lacy lay his head on her knees while Owen rushed to get a towel. I knew Lacy was gonna be hard because she kept her wicked gaze on me, no tears nothing as if not believing a word I said. Her gaze became unsettling so I decided to leave. When I left the room I let myself feel the happiness I was hiding. That bitch was dead. Now Boa is gonna be mine!
