Me and Mildred were flying around the school with our cats perched but Plucky's in the satchel. She was getting better with my patience. I thought about my great aunt Agatha and her plan. I couldn't take it, I wanted to stop her.
"Follow me Mildred, we're taking a little detour."
We flew to the woods.
"We're going too far from the school Hyacinth."
"I don't care."
"We'll get into trouble!"
"I don't care!"
We landed.
"Seriously!"
"I don't care!"
"Hyacinth, you're scaring me!"
I sighed.
"Don't worry, do you have your spell book with you?"
"Yes, it's in my satchel."
"Get it out and follow me."
We saw my aunt and her friends.
"Who is that?"
"My great aunt Agatha, Miss. Cackle's evil twin. She is planning to take over the school, I am not going to let her. She even talked me into joining them because of my reputation. Give me your spell book."
She gave it to me.
"We are going to turn them into snails and capture them and show it to Grandma."
We flipped through the pages. They noticed us.
"Well well well, look Agatha! Little witches!" Delilah said.
"I'm turning you into snails and there's nothing you can do to stop me!"
"Ah yes there is! We dare you Hyacinth!" Agatha said.
"Dare!"
"Make that a double dare!' I yelled.
Mildred was scared.
"Double dare!" Delilah said.
"Shut up Delilah!"
"Shut up Delilah."
"Dumb witch," I mumbled.
Me and Mildred recited the spell. It worked on the first try. They were snails.
"We did it!"
"Shoebox appear!" I said.
A small shoebox with holes on the sides appeared in my hands. We picked them up one by one.
We flew back to the school. Miss. Hardbroom noticed us after she rang the bell.
"Mildred Hubble and Hyacinth Cackle, you escaped the school!"
"Let us explain!"
"You'll explain it to Miss. Cackle before you face expulsion!"
We walked to Grandma's office. Pretty much everybody was watching us.
*Maud's POV*
"Mildred and Hyacinth's going to get it right between the eyes," Ethel said.
"What are you so happy about?" I asked.
"My broomstick, it did the trick."
"What are you talking about?"
"Mildred just couldn't handle it. Oh, never mind, just forget about it.
"Handle what?"
"Never mind."
"You put a curse on her!" I yelled.
"Don't be ridiculous!"
"It was you all along! You're always picking on us, but this time, you've ruined it for all of us!"
"I don't know what you're talking about!"
"You evil-hearted, mean-spirited, no-good, rotten pig!"
I knew the truth!
*Hyacinth's POV*
We were in the office.
"Just what were you two doing outside of school?" Grandma asked.
"We were practicing our flying, but Hyacinth said we had to take a detour to the woods."
"The woods?"
"It was for a good cause Miss. Cackle, your sister."
"What about my sister?"
"She was plotting to take over this school, even attempted to make me join, I have a reputation here as the rebel. I'm a good witch, not a bad witch," I said.
I took the shoebox out of my satchel.
"We took it upon ourselves to stop them, turned them into snails."
I opened the box. The snails were chirping. I sat it down on the desk.
"Do you believe them Miss. Cackle?" Miss. Hardbroom asked.
"As a matter of fact, I do."
They smiled at us. Grandma and Miss. Hardbroom bent down to the box.
"That's what you get for your evil ways."
Miss. Hardbroom turned to us.
"I've been quite hard on you, Mildred. But I wouldn't have troubled if I hadn't always thought you had potential. Hyacinth, like I said the other day, you are rebellious but you're an intelligent young witch. Both of you deserve recognition for your bravery. Hyacinth, you did save Mildred last night, I am very proud, I have never seen a student do something as brave and heroic as this in all my years of teaching."
"Mildred, Hyacinth, it's almost time for class, you may go."
"Yes ma'am."
We left.
