To Travis, Zane was sunflowers, fully bloomed, under the evening sunset. He was a kiss tasting like strawberries and cigarettes. The snowy-haired man loved the way Zane's eyes shimmered under the stars, how every constellation and passing meteor reflected in his glimmering, pale blue eyes.

To Zane, Travis was mistletoe kisses, cuddling under the stars, and 7/11 slurpees. He was young, wild, and free; everything Zane wanted to be, even at 26. The ravenette couldn't help but glance over at Travis, how his snow-white hair flowed in the September breeze, giving him an almost halo effect.

What they had didn't seem cliche, a not-so-typical-love-song, if you will. So there they were, leaning back on the hood of Travis's 2007 Honda Civic, their hands intertwined.

They lived for the simple dates, the kinds that didn't invoke any talking that didn't feel natural. "There's Orion," Zane said, pointing up at a constellation that Travis couldn't see. "There's his belt, see? Then right behind him is Canis Major and Canis Minor, his hunting dogs. Their names just mean big dog and little dog." Travis had half-zoned out, only looking at his boyfriend, but his own laughter brought him out of his little trance.

"Show me more constellations, yeah?" Travis asked, staring at Zane. "Dork. I'll point out as many as I can." The black-haired male turned back to the sea of stars, before pointing off, near the moon. "That's Cassiopeia. She sacrificed her kid so a monster would stop attacking their village," Once he heard Travis's noise to assure he was listening, he continued. "The greeks were on crack sometimes."

"I love you, Zane." Travis said, suddenly. Zane rolled over on the hood of the car to face his boyfriend. "I love you too, snowflake." The ravenette responded, almost habitually, a small smile on his face. "I mean it. I love you like a love song." Travis confessed, emerald eyes shining with love.

"You're adorable when you're being stupid. Come lay with me so I can show you more constellations." Zane half-laughed. Travis almost immediately snuggled up under Zane's arm, following his hand as he pointed out more stars, their worries both far, far away.
