"Let's go Trev!" Said Sam, Trevor's twin brother. "I'm coming I'm coming." Trevor replied. "God it's only Choosing Day." He adds.
"But choosing day is the best! It's exciting, amazing!" He exclaims. "And your vocabulary still hasn't changed Sam." Trevor chuckles. Sam rolled his eyes at Trevor's remark. The two boys walked along the sidewalk of Ridge-Walk Avenue to the High School to be reminded of how Choosing Day worked.
Trevor thought about what might happen today during Choosing Day. Part of him hoped he would be chosen but he doubted that he would be able to because of him being 17. He thought about if Sam was chosen as he was born just a minute before Trevor. It was at 11:59 pm when Sam had been born so they had both been born on different days.
They arrived at the school finally and stopped at the entrance to look at the massive four story structure of the school before going inside. The inside walls were painted red, white, and blue honoring the school's mascot Frederick the Patriot.
Although Trevor had said that Frederick looked a bit creepy. So had other students at the school. But today Trevor smiled at the statue as he passed it. Sam and him walked into the Auditorium and took their seats among the rest of the twelfth grade students.
After a few minutes the Principal walked on stage with a man who looked like a Federal Agent. The Principal walked up to the stage and tapped the microphone to make sure it was on. "Hello Everett High Seniors! Welcome to Choosing Day! Today we have a Agent from the Centre here to explain the rules of Choosing Day and why we do Choosing Day!" He stepped away and the man stepped up to the microphone.
"Hello students. My name is Michaek Mistrov. I am from Moscow and Choosing Day was created by the Treaty of the Fifty Year War as the thing that keeps the Treaty unexpirable." He says in a deep russian accent. "Here is a video showing the cause of the war." He adds as he clicked a button on a remote to make the projector screen come down. A few seconds went by and the screen flickered on and a video started to play. It showed that Russia had started the war accidentally by launching their nuclear bombs on America. Then America launching theirs on China. And then the war started.
The video ended after twenty minutes and Michaek stepped back up to the microphone. "Now the name choosing is broadcasted to every American school and two people will be chosen from any school. First let's start with the Gentlemen." He says. The screen showed a Ticket machine that had been recycled into a name choosing machine.
The woman beside the machine pressed the button and it started up. After a few minutes a piece of paper came out. This piece of paper had any one male students name on it. The woman took it out of the machine and read it. "Mr. Trevor Martik." She said. He was pretty sure he hadn't heard her right. She said Trevor's name again. Trevor stood up nervously as some people clapped. Some looked at him in fear. He walked up to the stage as the man shakes his hand. "Welcome Mr. Martik... To the Sin Games." He says.
