I awoke to distant screaming. Bolting upright, the blanket falls to my waist, and I glance at the grandfather clock against the wall.
3:56 Fuck! I overslept!
I bolt to the door, only to find it locked.
What the fuck. I don't remember locking it.
I bang and kick at it, but it's all useless. I'm trapped, at least until somebody comes to my aid.
"Help! Help! I'm stuck, please anybody!" I plead in my desperate plea to escape the confides of this hellhole mansion.
"Shut the fuck up." I hear from the other side of the door.
I can recognize that fucking voice anywhere.
"Open the fucking door, Ace." I scream and continue banging against the wood, when seconds later the door is opened, and I'm faced with a familiar chest. Only this time it's clad in a red silk button down. Amazing muscles popping out in the sleeves and torso area, a couple buttons on the top undone to show a toned chest littered with tattoos...
Fuck, I groan mentally, I forgot I hate this man.
"Can I help you?" He calmly states, as if I hadn't just been banging loudly on one of his doors.
"Why am I locked in here?"
"So you couldn't save your friend."
Rose, he has Rose... he-
At that second another scream, similar to the one that woke me up, echoed down the hallway. I knew the voice to that scream anywhere, and before I could bolt away to find her Ace threw me over his shoulder, like he knew what I was going to do.
God what is with this man and throwing people over his shoulder.
I kicked and screamed, as if the last time I was in this predicament didn't mean anything, but Ace began strutting his way down the hallway like I wasn't putting up the fight of my life.
"You've really outdone yourself this time, Rowan. I told you not to test me and here you are trying to escape, again. That just won't do," Ace tsk's at me, scolding me like a child, "but lucky for you we have some business to attend to tonight. So I'm holding off on your punishment."
"Like hell that'll happen. You have no right-"
Ace cuts me off with a curt smack to my bum, causing me to jump in fright, "Oh it'll happen, little one. I have every right."
Ace walks into the doorway of his office, and I'm soon plopped down onto his lap as he sits in his office chair. My back to his front. The cold looking interior of the room seeming darker than normal; the reality sunk in... I wasn't going to escape.
One of Aces arms go to wrap around my front, taunting my last bit of hope of getting out of this position any time soon.
Ace pulls out his phone from his pants pocket, dials a number, and puts it up to his ear.
I pull my lip in between my teeth, tears beginning to spring into my eyes. The predicament of the situation now getting to me but I wouldn't cry, I couldn't. I needed to stay strong, for Rose.
"Bring her in, Collin." Is all Ace grumbled into the phone before ending the call, and tossing his phone onto the hardwood desk with a smack.
