Nines raced down the sidewalk, the large apartment building appearing behind a line of trees. Gavin had sent him a message around three minutes ago telling Nines to come over to his apartment, and if Gavin was contacting Nines out of anyone, it must be an actual emergency. There was something wrong, as he felt a weird feeling in his bio components, a feeling that didn't exactly feel good. He quickly ran up to the front door, and threw it open, running upstairs to Gavins apartment door. It was extremely silent... Too silent. Nines threw himself at the door, which brought it open immediately, as it wasn't locked, "Detective, are you alright?!"
He stopped in his tracks as he saw Gavin sitting on a chair in the living room, holding a orange cat, while staring wide-eyed over at the front door, startled, "Jesus, what the fuck is wrong with you?" He said, startled at the door being slammed open and Nines yelling.
Nines composed himself rather quickly, as he tilted his head slightly, still feeling that slight uncomfortable feeling in his bio components, "You said there was an emergency, and for me to come over quickly." His LED turned from a bright red, to a yellow, "Are you not in danger?" He tilted his head further.
"Oh my god, no, I'm not in danger!" He chuckled, setting down the cat carefully onto the couch, "I just needed you to watch Richard," The orange cat had a giant cone around his head, which was quite amusing. "He scratched his shoulder on a part of the counter while jumping down, and needed stitches, and I'm not supposed to leave him home alone to make sure he doesn't open his stitches," He looked down at the cat, and grinned, "Yeah, we're talking about you, asshole." The cat only mewed lightly in response.
"Then why did you say it was an emergency?" He asked calmly, holding his hands in front of him, "Also, I can't take care of it... I don't exactly know what to do."
"Because, I don't know? I just did." He rolled his eyes, "And it's easy, you just pet it when it wants attention, feed it, give it water, and just watch after him sometimes."
"Oh, so like a plant?" Nines looked up how to take care of an average house plant, which seemed rather simple.
Gavin sighed, "I guess, except a little more complex." He looked over at the wall, where a little clock hung, "Look, I really gotta go, and you're one of the only people I can have watch him, unfortunately," He walked over to the chair he had been sitting on, and put on his black sweatshirt, "Just, don't fuck my house up, and make sure my cat doesn't die, or scratch open his stitches, okay?"
Nines didn't want to, nor did he believe he exactly know how to watch the cat, but this was a chance to gain the detectives trust, and no way was he going to pass that up, "Okay, where are you going?"
Gavin huffed, and pushed his hair back, "Is it really any of your fucking business?" He asked, frustrated.
"No, but if I'm taking care of your cat, I feel it is only fair you tell me where you're at in case of an emergency." Nines said calmly.
"Fine, jesus. I'm just going to Rehas since she wanted me to help her move. I'll be gone for a few hours, but it shouldn't take too long." He said, "Now, the moving van is going to get there soon, so I really gotta go."
Nines took this chance to finally look around the livingroom of Gavins apartment, which Gavin had never really let him do. The few times Nines had been allowed inside, it was only for Gavin to grab something from inside, which Nines was instructed to wait by the door. Gavin walked over to the table, and picked up his keys, "Make sure to feed him exactly around four, and don't feed him anything other than cat food while I'm out." He was about to open the door, when he turned back around. He opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something, but closed it again, sighing. "Just watch him for me, okay? I'll be back, tin can."
"Goodbye, Detective." Nines waved, as the Detective left, and closed the door behind him, locking Nines and Richard in the apartment. Nines LED had returned to a calm blue, as he looked around the living room fully.
