A Sestina I wrote the other day,
I hope you enjoy.
I throw the stone
Across the lake
As the water glistens
The stone hops on the water
Creating ripples
Every bounce.
After the final bounce
The stone
Flops, creating large ripples
Stretching across the lake
The sun making the water
Shine and glisten.
Inside the glistening
Water, the fish bounce,
From the bouncing stone,
Hitting the surface of the lake
Creating more ripples.
The new ripples
Make the water glisten
On the surface of the lake
Causing me to bounce
As I grab a new stone
And step into the water.
Stepping into the water
I create more ripples.
Holding the stone,
Watching the water glisten
I can see the fish bounce
All around in the lake.
Looking around the lake,
My feet cold from the water
Makes me shiver and bounce.
Taking one last look at the water glisten,
I close my eyes and throw the stone.
