I was lying on my bed and was staring at my ceiling. It's been a week since I locked myself in my room and did nothing. I have also been away from school for a week and have not had guts to step out of my room. I wanted to stay away from everyone, so I decided not to answer calls, not to accept visitors, and even deactivated my internet accounts.
I was afraid to hear rumors involving Carlos or Sara. I was afraid to see them together, I was afraid about the reactions people around me would have, I was afraid to face my life now.
I am broken. I am shattered. I am torn into pieces.
And I'm trying to regain my old self. I'm trying to be the same person I was before I knew my boyfriend cheated. I mean ex-boyfriend! He was my first love and I have given and sacrificed a lot for him, and this is what I've got! I hate them! I hate him so much!
Water was forming into my blurry eyes when I heard someone knocking my door.
"Micky?” I recognized it was my mom.
She had been so sweet and caring for me the whole week, maybe because I told her I am sick and not feeling well. I lied, or maybe not. I wasn't really feeling well and felt like I was sick. She was patient with the attitude I had.
"Micky? Could you open the door?! My hands are shaking now!”
She was now raising her voice which made me snap out, whips my watery eyes, stood up and opened the door. I saw her carrying a tray which had sandwiches and chocolate drinks on it-our favorite.
"I brought you your breakfast. And mine too." She smiled at me as she went inside and placed the tray at my small pink table in front of my bed.
"Take your seat now and let's eat.” she pointed out the chair opposite the chair she was seated, and so, I did.
I grabbed a sandwich and took a bite.
"You look better now.” she also ate her sandwich and smiled at me.
I looked down and said "I am, mom. Thanks."
I was afraid she'd notice I was just pretending to be sick. I kept quiet and let silence roam the room.
And finally a ring from my phone broke the awkward silence.
"Aren't you gonna pick it up, Micky?”
I looked straight at my mom's eyes and said no.
"Okay. Let me do it for you.”
WTH!
It could be Carlos or Sara or the school's head!
"Moooom!" I tried to reach for the phone but she kept on shoving me away.
"Hello?” she spoke and glared at me.
"Oow? Micky? She'd been sick that's why she'd been away from school. Who's this again?” she was now smiling at me, and I was shooting glares towards her as I sat back my seat.
"Micheal?" my eyes widened as I heard the name.
Micheal! The boy from last week who saved me! How'd he got my number?
I directly stood up and tried to steal the phone away from my mom.
"I believe Micky won't accept calls right now, she said she feels really sick." she was chuckling.
"Mom! Give me my phone!" I was now laughing with hiw mom was acting. She's trying to annoy me like she usually does.
"Are you fine now, Micky?” she smiled widely at me.
