ARTHIT

What the fuck? I know that my band does not trust a single word from this modern day Apate* but still, what the fuck? If one didn't know Knot, they would not have caught the sarcasm in his voice as he thanked Rune but we all know better. We have been together for far too long not to catch the undercurrents in his tone.

I feel Prem and Bright's eyes sliding to me as they too murmur their thanks to Rune, who smiles back sweetly.

We have all seen nothing but the utmost professionalism in every personnel that we had come across in InSecurities, Inc. Even if Kong and myself had not started this thing between us, I would still stand by my stance that this company has been nothing but professional and efficient, so this serpent tongued she-devil can go hang herself.

Before I can speak, the director calls her to the set to discuss details of the next scene, unknowingly saving her from my temper. I glare at her back as she walks away, still in half a frame of mind to give her a talking down to.

"Oi, Arthit~ tone down that fire in your eyes."

I turn to Tweedledum and Tweedledee who stare at me with ill concealed mirth before Prem gives a pointed look at my clenched fist. I have never felt the urge to smack a lady till today, scratch that, she is not a lady but the fairer sex. Scratch that too. She is not of the fairer sex, she is a disgrace to her kind. I never felt such a need to go all kinds of crazy on a person before.

Knot reaches out to tap my shoulder, "We know better. None of them have ever done anything to make us doubt them, especially Kongpob."

Between the four of us, we collectively smile. After everything that we have been through together with all the false people in our lives, we have grown smarter in filtering the real and fake. I know that the rest of them are with me in knowing that Rune falls into that not-worthy-of-our-attention bucket.

Prem is called to the set shortly after that for the filming of the second scene while P'Jane pulls me aside to discuss some last minute changes to our schedule where we are suppose to attend a benefit concert in a few days to raise funds for children born with cleft lip and palate defects.

Sometime later, as our music continuously blasts overhead and the rest of us are done with our filming scenes, I join Knot and Bright on the side to watch the last filming of the pivotal goodbye kiss.

The scene is set heart-achingly beautiful, the lighting somber befitting the mood that we are trying to achieve and both Prem and Rune are amazing together. Despite her being a snake, they do look great together and are very believable as Prem stands in the middle of the room, his eyes sad but dry as he watches her zip up her luggage. I can feel the pain that Prem is conveying and know that I am not the only one as Bright sucks in a deep breath, even more drawn to the scene as those lyrics of his are made reality as Rune walks up to Prem slowly.

The soft caress on his cheek, his head lifting to meet her eyes, and the meeting of two pairs of lips combined with the way Prem's hands hovered around her waist, wanting to hold her close but resigned to the fact she is leaving and finally, to her stepping back to her luggage. It feels so much more impactful than their first kiss and as the three of us turn to look at each other, deep down in our bones we all feel it-this song will be amazing. Prem looks over at us, the same knowing look in his eyes.

It is finally a wrap.

As we thank all the staff and director for their hard work on the MV, as usual I start searching for that errant bodyguard of mine. Instead, I see Wad with crossed arms glaring at Prem at a corner. Making my way nearer, I hear Wad hissing to Prem, "You look like you pretty damn well enjoyed that!"
