KONGPOB

It took me longer than originally planned to finally make that call to Prae but eventually I did and found out several key pieces of information regarding the stalker fan. We had found out some time ago that the person that entered the house and trashed Arthit's room had the code to gain access to the house, which meant that they had an inside connection but we didn't know whom at the time.

My lovely H.B.I.C. was finally about to able to ferret out the culprit after a few scalding, verbal smackdowns on several employees.

"So who's the asshole that we are going to sue for breach of contract?" I ask, my fists clenching in anger when I remember how easily the stalker was able to get inside without detection.

"Some low ranking employee in the tech company we employed at the time. Guess he was looking to make a few extra bucks and gave out both the code and a copy of the house key." my boss answers, sounding as pissed off as I am.

Arthit, hearing the frustration in my voice, runs a hand along my back in an attempt to calm me. This was a conversation that I didn't mind him listening in on, especially when it pertained to him and his friends, so I had stayed in the bedroom room to make the call. His presence alone calms me enough to keep my temper leashed so that I can try to find out what else Prae has managed to dig up.

"Okay, so...is there any way to use what he gave us to track this psycho fan?"

"Unfortunately, everything was done via a generic email address and P.O. box with the payment sent as a prepaid credit card so there was no way to trace it."

Frustrating, but it at least tied up a loose end that had been bothering us since it happened. We had already arranged to change all the locks and codes so only those within the house and those working for the client within InSecurities, Inc. would have access so there would be no way the incident could repeat itself.

"Fuck. Then how are we coming along on getting the lists of guests and workers from the night of the release party?"

"Now there I have some good news. With a little police encouragement from a few of the friends that I've made over the years, the venue owner finally agreed to send over the list of workers from that night and the music label has already emailed over the guest list as of this morning."

"Do you need me to come into the office to help you go over it?"

I didn't want to give up a free day with Arthit but his safety will always come first to me so if losing a few hours to review boring paperwork leads to the capture of this stalker, then it was well worth the sacrifice.

"Actually, that would be..."

The rest of the words are cut off by a hand grasping the phone out of my own and I turn to see Arthit holding it to his ear while speaking to my boss.

"Hey Prae, this is Arthit. Sorry to cut in but I think it would be a better idea if you come over here. I think Kong must've forgotten to invite you over for the BBQ we were planning for this evening."

I'm trying to listen in to her side of the conversation but Arthit has turned his body away from me while they talk, possibly so that I can't retrieve my phone.

"Mmhmm...yes, of course...tell Em he's invited as well...no, it's no problem at all...okay, see you then."

Arthit hangs up and turns back to me, holding out my phone as I stare at him speechless. I still can't believe he just did that. Meanwhile he's giving me a self-satisfied grin that I try not to find endearing but fail at miserably.
