Revenge had no point if the victim had no idea why they were the ones that had to die. It would make it seem as useless act. No, Ciara thought, it had to be known why vengeance was necessary.

That was the only reason she had kept Travis' letter. Not to read it, or because she wanted to keep it as a funny anecdote for later, but to show it to Travis' as his blood left his body. She kept it to know she had won. She took the letter from a box under her bed. She kept all her 'business stuff' there. The letter was pink, and it seemed like a cute love letter.

She had found the letter on a Friday. It was stuck on the side of her locker, and Ciara was surprised. She knew she should have known better, but she had tucked it into her bag to read it at home.

'Hey Ci.

You didn't actually think someone liked you right? hahahaha'

Ciara grabbed a lighter, and sat down on her bed and opened the window. She saw that her mother was inside again, and she lit one corner of the letter. She had to hold it there for a while, but once it started burning she threw the lighter on the floor. She watched the flames burn of the letters from the paper.

'I'm really sorry, but I think you need to accept the fact that you'll be alone forever.'

The flames turned the paper black, then red, until it disappeared. Ciara had always had a thing for fire, she thought it was just so majestic. They crawled around on the paper, without a pattern. She watched the paper turn into ash until the fire almost reached her fingertips. She threw the last part out of the window, and watched while it flew away in the wind.
