Chapter 1: Chores and Family movie night

One day on a sunset evening in October, at Roddy and Rita's house, Rachel and Rodney were upstairs in their room getting their bags ready for school tomorrow.

Rachel is now in sixth grade this year along with Denny. While Rodney is now in fourth grade this year with his best friend: Robin.

Once they were finished filling up their backpacks, Rachel turned to her brother. "Alright, I think we're all good for school tomorrow. "So let's finish up our chores before we start family movie night with Mum and Dad." Rachel said, smiling, while jumping off her bed.

Rodney nodded while smiling as he followed his sister downstairs. Once they made it downstairs, Rachel was putting away the dishes, while Rodney was gathering all of the trash from each bathroom to bring them back to the kitchen, before heading outside to the backyard.

Once he made it outside, he opened the trashcan and put the bag into the trash can. Until he heard a splashing sound. At first he thought he was hearing things until he looked next door and saw a swimming pool.

"Hello? Is someone there?" He asked, while walking up to the wooden fence. No later after he had turned around, he heard wet footsteps, quickly leaving as he turned to face the pool again realizing that no one was there.

Rodney raised an eyebrow before speaking. "That's weird. I thought I heard something or better yet someone." He said, to himself.

As he was about to check it out, he heard his sister; calling for him. "Rodney, what are you doing? Movie night is about to start soon." Rachel said as Rodney quickly closed the lid on the trash can, before coming back into the house.

"What took you so long? I was already done with the dishes." Rachel said.

"My bad, Ray. But while I was outside I thought I heard something. It kind of sounded like splashing." Rodney said as Rachel raised an eyebrow.

"It was probably the slugs playing by the water, again." She said

"Maybe." He said, while lowering his eyebrows.

What seemed like a few minutes later, Roddy and Rita both came downstairs and into the living room. "Hey, kids, are you ready for movie night?" Rita asked.

"Yes." Rachel and Rodney both said, smiling as Roddy and Rita both chuckled.

"So what kind of movie do you kids wanna watch?" Roddy asked.

"Alice in Wonderland!" Rachel and Rodney both said.

"Alright, Alice in Wonderland it is." Rita said, smiling as she and her family went into the living room; to watch their movie.

During the movie, Rodney got up to use the bathroom. While on his way to the bathroom, he heard noises; coming from outside of his bedroom window. So he went to go check it out. While gazing into the night sky, he looked down and saw a flash of blue light; zigzagging it's way through the yard, next door.

"Woah, what is that?" Rodney said to himself as he kept watching. "Look at it go, it just keeps going and going. It's amazing." He said before realizing that he still needed to use the bathroom. "But oh man do I gotta pee." Rodney said before leaving his room, to go to the bathroom.

Once he made it to the bathroom, he saw a spider, crawling on the ceiling which made him scream as he quickly ran out of the bathroom and back downstairs. While watching the movie, Roddy, Rita and Rachel all turned around and saw Rodney, running in fear. "Rodney, what's wrong, son?" Roddy asked.

"Spider! There's a spider in our bathroom." He said while clinging onto the couch in complete fear.

"There is? Eww gross I hate spiders." Rachel said, in disgust as Rodney nodded.
