Once they made it to the football field, Rodney and Robin turned around and saw them both, walking to the field.
"Zoey, you made it!" Rodney said, smiling as Zoey smiled.
"Of course I wouldn't miss it for the world, to be given a chance to play with my new best friends." She said, smiling.
"Speaking of friends, who is this?" Robin asked, with a smitten look on his face while looking at Lauryn.
Zoey noticed his facial expression and just smirked at him. "Oh, this is my new friend, Lauryn Garcia. She moved here from Puerto Rico last year." She said, smiling.
"Well nice to meet you, Lauryn. I'm Rodney St. James by the way. And this is Robin." Rodney said, introducing himself.
"Nice to meet you guys." Lauryn said, smiling as Robin walked up to her while holding her hand.
"Please, The pleasure is all mine to meet you." Robin said before kissing her hand as Lauryn giggled while blushing like crazy.
Rodney and Zoey both looked at them while chuckling as Coach Paulson walked up to the field in front of everyone before he blew his whistle, getting their attention. "Alright, kids, listen up. As you can see, we have a few new people joining us today due to us being short on a few players. But that's okay because as a team, I believe that we can grow and succeed together as a team. So before we begin practice, I need to see the following students. Lauryn Garcia, Zoey Rivers, Tara Williams, Isabella Carmichael and Lindsay Sparks. Please come with me and I'll explain how things will work around here." Coach Paulson said as the five girls followed him.
"Now because you all are the only girls on the team, you all will have your own locker room for you to change before you come to practice. Another thing, I need your shirt sizes for your jerseys so you can wear it whenever we have a game. And finally here is a permission slip for you and your parent or guardian to sign and bring back before our first game on October 29th." Coach Paulson said before giving each girl a permission slip.
Zoey nervously looked at the permission slip while thinking about what her mother, aunt, and grandmother would say about it.
"Alright, now that's been cleared up, we can begin practice. Okay, kids, we're gonna start by running laps around the field. Now get into your positions and.. go!" Coach Paulson said, before he blew his whistle as all of the children started running around the field.
Later on after running laps around the field, all of the children were all on the field, playing against each other. Zoey was kicking the football while she ran, while also trying her hardest not to reveal her powers to her teammates until she heard Lauryn, calling for her. "Zoey, pass it to me!" She cried out as Zoey nodded before kicking the football towards Lauryn as she ran to the goal and scored for her team. "Yes! Goooaaallll!!!" Lauryn and her teammates all cheered as Coach Paulson chuckled.
"Alright, great job, team. And thank you ladies for coming out for the team. You are all now officially part of the team, congratulations. Now to those I gave permission slips to, make sure you bring those back before our first game. Good job today. You may dismiss." Coach Paulson said before the team all started heading back to the gym.
After everyone got dressed from their football uniforms, Zoey, Lauryn, Rodney and Robin all walked to docks, where their parents can come and pick them up. Lauryn turns to Zoey with a big smile on her face. "I can't believe we made the team in just one day! Can you believe it?" She replied while smiling.
Zoey nodded while smiling. "I can. At first I was a little nervous about joining, but now I see that we're freaking awesome!" She said, smiling as Rodney and Robin chuckled.
