Goldy

"Ryan, Jessie's dead."  Jessie.  My girlfriend who was actually a stranger that I paid five bucks.

Now, I stared at the corpse in a coffin, being lowered down into a hole, six feet under.  The fresh clothes hid a slash mark, as if she was hit with a flaming sword.  And though nobody else knew what or who killed her, I did.  Only a lightsaber could do something like that.  And Goldy had gone missing.  Unicorn hasn't been hanging around me that often.  Still haven't guessed?  A girl named- what was it?- Becky!  Becky wrote some sort of love note for me, only to never contact me again.

"Tina..."  I muttered, looking down at the ground.  I knew she liked me, but this was too much.  I felt lonely, and Tina wasn't very good company in a situation where she was at fault.  Walking back home (alone, for that matter), I felt chills up my back.

"I know you're there, Tina, come out."  But nobody did.  And the chill got stronger.  So I turned around.  It wasn't Tina.  It was a very injured Goldy.  She was weak in the knees, and holding one arm with the other, as if it couldn't support itself.

"Tina... That sounds... Familiar..."  She whispered, and fell back.  I caught her, still surprised since she had gone missing.  Where was Tina?  That didn't matter now though, I carried Goldy into the house and left a camera on her, just in case.  Picking up my phone, and calling my once best friend, I left one sentence for a message.

"Hey Unicorn, I found Goldy."

"Goldy, Goldy!  Hey, Goldy, wake up!"  UnicornMann was now desperately trying to wake Goldy up, for she was the only reason he had stopped crying and got out of bed this morning.  Without his action, the town had been overrun by robbers.  "Goldy!"  She stirred, and reached out, only to drop her hand again.

I stood in silence, feeling alone and like a third wheel.  I had shut all of the curtains, just in case.

"Where am I?"  I jumped, still paranoid.

"Goldy!  Oh my God, what happened?"  Unicorn hugged her, but she pushed him away, falling onto the floor.

"Who are you?  Why are you dressed like that?"

"Gold-"

"Who am I?"  Oh no.  Oh nonono...  Unicorn burst into tears, and not like the dramatic tears that he does as a joke- actual tears.  He inhaled.

"Your name is Goldy McGoldface-"

"I'm sorry, what's my last name?"

"McGoldface."

"So my name is, 'Goldy McGoldface.'"  She stated.

"Ye-"

"Hahaha!"  She started to laugh.  Same old Goldy.  "Oh, ouch."  She clutched her head, only for her hand to be stabbed with one of the points on her crown.  "OUCH!"

"Shh, there might be someone outside."  I spoke, taking a sip of my tea.

"Why should we be careful about that?"  She questioned, obviously struggling to speak quietly.  I stayed silent.

"Anyways," Unicorn continued.  "Your name is Goldy, Ryan is your friend," he pointed at me, "and I'm your best friend, UnicornMann.  You went missing a while back, and we just found you.  Somebody out there may be trying to hurt you."

"You have a weird name."

"That's not the-"  He sighed, and walked out of the room.  Guess he needed a breather.

Goldy turned to me.

"... Ryan, 'ight?  Who's that girl in the picture behind you?"  I turned.  A picture of me and Tina, back at the old daycare before she went crazy.  I felt tears prick at my eyes, but nonetheless, I turned to Goldy to answer her.

"A girl I used to love."
