As So-bong lies trapped under the fallen scaffolding inside the burning club, she thinks to herself, "So, this is how it ends." She recalls fighting in the kickboxing ring, being cheered on by Dad and his athletes, Joint and Robocop. she'd been winning, but then her opponent had head-butted her and poked her in the eyes, and the referee hadn't called the rule violations.
Dizzy and unable to see, So-bong had been flipped to the mat, and her opponent had twisted her leg until her ankle broke. Her father had ended the match, and So-bong had jumped off the gurney taking her to an ambulance to follow the oddly-behaving referee. She'd found him with another man, accepting money for influencing the fight's outcome. She'd screamed and attacked him, getting herself permanently banned from fighting.
As she sat in the hospital reeling at being punished while the referee was found innocent, her father had yelled that the fight association members were all corrupted. He'd vowed to have them all thrown in jail, but So-bong had screamed at him to stop — he'd never win against the almighty dollar, and her fighting career was over anyway because of her injury.
She'd figured that since her life was over, she might as well make money however she can, which is why she'd agreed to take those illicit pictures of Shin. She tells herself that she deserves to die, but she still feels that it's unfair. Her last thought is, "Dad, goodbye," as the burning balcony began to fall on her.
But then the balcony stops mid-fall, and So-bong looks up to see Nam Shin-III pushing it away from her. He easily removes the scaffolding and picks her up, and her heart starts to pound. She tells him that the thumping is coming from him, but he says, "I have no heart," before carrying her to safety.
Nam Shin-III deposits So-bong on the ground outside the building and evaluates her condition as "stable." He suddenly snaps out of Disaster Mode and back to himself, and he asks So-bong where they are and why he's holding her. He gives So-bong a sweet little smile, then shuts down.
So-bong and Nam Shin-III are both loaded into ambulances, but Young-hoon won't let the EMTs touch Nam Shin-III's body. Another ambulance cuts them off, and when Young-hoon sees that it's Ro-ra, he helps her load Nam Shin-III into the new vehicle. Ro-ra checks the damage to Nam Shin-III's back and gets to work doing what repairs she can.

Jong-gil sees a news story about the fire, and he scoffs at the idea of self-centered Shin as a hero. He gets a call from Snake, still in the Czech Republic, who reports that there's no way Shin could be alive and healthy in Seoul after being hit head-on by the truck. Snake says that both the police and hospital records have disappeared, but that a paramedic told him where Shin was taken. Standing outside Ro-ra's Czech home, he says he'll look into it and call back.
