"Barton. Barton!" Tony's voice echoed throughout the communal floor. It seemed like he was calling for the archer, although said archer was nowhere to be seen. "Barton, I swear to God. If you don't come down here right now, I WILL put pink glitter all over your bow." The billionaire was furious. As a result from one of their most recent Prank Wars, Clint had managed to get him back for his joke on the archer. What did he do? Well, he might, or might not have covered Tony's suit in bright pink glitter. Of course, Nat helped him put on all the glitter, after he slathered the whole thing in glue.
The archer himself was currently roaming through the vents right above Tony, clutching his dear bow to his chest. "No way Tin Man. You got what you deserved after you dyed my hair glittery purple!" He looked at Tony, who had spotted him through the vent. "Even though I kinda dig the purple, Laura isn't too happy about it, so this is what you get for putting my wife's wrath on me." He shivered as he thought back at Laura's reaction. His wife was furious, both at him and Tony, and he didn't have the need to experience that again. His hair still had a shade of purple, but you could only see it when the sun shone on it. Especially when the sun shone on it.
Tony huffed and flipped him off, scoring him an indignant huff from the other. He walked away, already forming devious plans on what to do with Clint's latest version of hearing aids. Hmm. I should cover them in more glitter, seeing he loves it so much. Maybe I could program it so that Clint could only hear me, and no one else. Or that he could only receive Barbie songs, or that- Tony shook his head. He wasn't that cruel. Or actually, he was, but he wasn't going to do that to the poor man.
He was so immersed in his plans about getting the poor archer back, that he hadn't noticed the blonde man trying to rush past him. At least not until they had both collided and fallen on the ground, Steve right on top of poor Tony.
"Hmpf. Steve, get of off me. As much as I like to have you on top of me, this is not the time. You're lucky Peper isn't here. I need to plan some devious things, and I don't need you added to the list." Tony pushed at Steve's chest, trying to get the Dorito off of him, but to no avail.
Steve 's cheeks flushed scarlet red as he understood what Tony was implying. He quickly got off of the small man, holding out his hand to get him up. "Sorry Tony. I was in a rush." He didn't say anything about Tony's comment, but he damn well saw the smirk on the other man's face.
"No worries Capsicle. Besides, if Pepper saw you on me, I'm certain you would be dead as a stuffed turkey on Thanksgiving by now." He grabbed Steve's hand and quickly got to his feet. He stretched his back, groaning as he felt his muscles pop. "Jeez, I'm getting old. Anyways, what's got your mind in a pickle? Seemed like it was very important to get wherever you needed to go."
The captain's face got serious. "I was on my way to gather everyone. Fury called in, he wants a meeting with all of us." He had already turned around, and was about to walk away before he shot over his shoulder "Could you get Bruce and Clint? Then I'll get the rest." He quickly walked away, not waiting for Tony's answer.
Tony huffed. He was lying if he said he didn't like the way Steve's cheeks heated up at every mention of a dirty comment. He might be engaged to Pepper, but still was the bi-playboy at heart. Shaking his head, he shouted without looking up "Barton, you heard what Cap said. Get your ass over to the meeting room." He started walking away, towards the lab, but not before hearing a quick 'Aye aye Captain Tin Guy."
It only took both Tony and Steve ten minutes to scramble together the rest of the team and assemble in the meeting room. Tony was already there together with Bruce and Clint, the three of them in a heated debate about 'how blueberries are not grapes Clint, Jesus, Bruce tell him'.
Steve cleared his throat, but he only got the attention of the gamma scientist. The other two were still debating, and didn't even look up. Steve tried again, but with the same result. Sighing, he gestured to the rest of the team to find a seat and sat down. He saw the screen behind the two bickering men light up and Fury appeared, looking as grumpy as ever.
This got Tony's attention. He turned away from Clint and looked up to the screen with a smile. "Hey Pirate. How are you doing?"
Fury didn't respond, which got him a 'Rude much' from Tony. He turned his attention to the rest of the team, who were waiting for him to speak. He cleared his throat and pulled up a file before he started. "I'm going to get straight to business. I assume everyone remembers Hydra?" Several people nodded, and Bucky shifted nervously in his seat. "Good. Now, my agents picked up a certain signal earlier this day, about a possible new Winter Soldier. I have composed a file for you." He tapped a few buttons and a document opened up on all of the team's tablets. "I know this might be a touchy subject for some of you, but I really need you to look into this." Bucky shot a nervous look towards Steve, who in response squeezed his hand. The other team mates were suspiciously quiet, even Tony, sensing that Fury was serious.
"This supposedly new soldier is called Soldier 2231, and his code name is Wolf Spider. It seems like that this time, Hydra went further with their experiments and added superhuman abilities to this man. We don't know much, but it seems like they used the DNA of a radioactive spider and mixed it with this soldier, giving him spiderlike abilities." Fury paused for a moment, letting the information sink in.
Tony was flipping through the file, seemingly uninterested. But his mind was racing a thousand miles per hour. As he read the different reports, he felt a feeling of- of- He didn't quite exactly know what. This man seemed familiar, as if Tony has seen him already.
Fury went on, not noticing Tony's internal debate. "What I want you to do, is to capture this soldier and bring him to us. He might have some useful information from Hydra, so it might be worth a shot. But do be careful, he is certainly a lot stronger than our Winter Soldier." With that, he logged off, leaving the team in silence.
It was only after a couple of minutes that Tony decided to break the silence. "Let's capture Spiderman, shall we?"
