The Dumping Ground: Charlie and Alex

Birthday

Alex's POV
Ever since Charlie heard her grandad wasn't well she hasn't been herself... Which is understandable, I hated seeing her this way. I want to make her feel better. I know I've been helping as I've been making her laugh here and there, but I want to do something really special. I know her birthdays coming up and I have an idea what I want to do but I need Mikes help.

Charlie's POV
Ever since I heard my grandad wasn't well I haven't been myself, I hate feeling this way but I can't help it. Alex has been my biggest support through this difficult time, I want him to know how much I appricate him but I know how to.

Alex's POV
I knock on mikes door and tell him the idea I have for Charlie's birthday and he thinks its a brilliant idea and he said he will be able to sort it all out. This makes me so excited I can't wait to see the smile on her face! I live for that smile.

Mike's POV
Alex came to me with a very good idea for Charlies birthday, I said to him I would sort it out for him. I am really proud of Alex, he has come so far since Charlie came. He was always a trouble maker but since she came he has become so caring. I can't help think that there might be something there.

Charlie's POV
Today is my birthday. Im not that excited, but then again I haven't felt excited since o heard about my grandad. However I'm not going to let that effect my day.
I come downstairs for breakfast and all of downstairs is decorated with balloons etc. I makes me happy that everyone has given up so much time for me. It makes me grateful to be so lucky to know people like this.
We had pancakes for breakfast which were delicious! Mike and Mayli gave me a card with £40 in it which I am so grateful for. The little ones made me home made card which I loved and Alex handed me a piece of paper saying 'your present is on its way'. I was shocked that he got me a present I wasn't expecting him too. I gave him a hug and he gave me a light kiss on the check which gave me butter flies. The peck caused the young ones to shout 'ohh' we both blushed and everyone continued with what they were doing.

Alex's POV
Today was the day. Charlie's birthday, Mike has the present sorted but it wasn't coming til later. I wrote on a piece of paper saying 'your present is on its way'. And then I ran down stairs. The house was decorated lovely. I stayed up with Mike and Mayli to them up. Once everyone gave Charlie's their presents I handed her the sheet of paper. She gave a hug and kissed her on the check without thinking about it the young ones went 'ohhh' which made us blush but then everyone continued with what they were doing.

General POV
As the day went on the party continued. There was music pounding and everyone was dancing and everyone was having a great time. However Charlie was upset as she was unable to see her grandad as he had a 'doctors appointment'.

Alexs POV
Ive been wait all day for Charlie's surprise to come and finally I seen a car pull up. It was here, I let mike know and he gave Mayli the signal to bring the cake out. Me and Mike slid of the room. We went outside and greeted Henry, Charlie's grandad, I could wait to see her face.

Charlie's POV
I noticed that Alex has been looking out the window a lot today, maybe he was waiting for my gift... I can't help but think what it is I'm so excited for it. I heard a car put up and Mayli came out with my birthday cake. I noticed Mike and Alex slid out of the room. I wonder what there doing.

General POV
As everyone sings happy birthday to Charlie the doors of the living room opens. Charlie turns around and she sees her grandad in he middle of Mike and Alex. Alex then shouts happy birthday this is your surprise!

Alex's POV
As Mike, Henry and I walk in to the living room I see the surprise in Charlie's face and she begins to cry and theres a huge smile on her face. Which makes me smile.

Charlie's POV
I turn around and I see my grandad, I can't believe it. This is what Alex has been planning. I start to cry with happy tears and give my grandad a huge hug. I mouth thank you to Alex and lead grandad to a seat. Told my grandad that I thought he was at the doctors all day bit that was his cover up, I let out a laugh and keep making eye contact at Alex letting him know how greatful I am.

General POV
As the party drew to an end everyone was getting Henry gathered up to go. Everyone loved him, they love hearing stories of Charlie of when she was younger and all the cool things they did. Everyone said their goodbyes and Charlie and Alex walked him to his car. As the car drove away they waved him goodbye. Alex noticed that Charlie had tears streaming down her face so he wrapped his arm around her. She turned around and hugged him.
Alex then asked "has this been your best birthday ever"
Charlie replied "only one thing can make it better"
"What's that" he replied
Charlie then whispered "kiss me"
They gazed into each others eyes and their lips met.
I was the perfect end to the perfect day!
