The days go by. Eliza was starting to struggle a little more. But Alex helped her through it. They got more comfortable around each other, and soon enough he was with them everywhere. Heck, Eliza and Pippa even moved into his (slightly larger) apartment! Everything was great.

Well, everything except one thing

One thing that confused Pippa

One thing that concerned Alex

One thing that scared Eliza

At least once a day, Eliza would have a nausea swing. They took her temperature, gave her medicine, put her on bedrest. But nothing worked.

But when the girls moved in, Alex was with them almost every hour of the day. And he soon noticed that Eliza just doesn't eat often. She eats a meal a day, and sometime that meal is a sandwich.

"Could that be it? " he thought.

Then, a week later, she just stopped eating in total. Maybe a granola bar or a strawberry once or twice during a week. But she never ate with Alex or Pippa. This concerned Alex more.

One day, Alex was on the couch with Pippa, watching a show with her. Then he saw Eliza run from the bedroom to the bathroom in a matter of seconds. Alex sighed and picked Pippa off his lap and went towards the bathroom, but Pippa grabbed his leg.

"Alex, is Mommy ok?" she asked

"Y-yeah, Pip. She's fine" he said, but not really meaning it.

He went to the bathroom and there Eliza was, again, over the toilet. Alex went to rub her back and pull her hair aside. She got up and stumbled a bit, before walking to the sink to wipe her mouth and brush her teeth. When she was done with that, she went towards the door but stumbled. Alex caught her and held on to her shoulders.

"Eliza. Are you sure your ok? You throw up almost everyday, and you eat nothing. Tell me what's wrong. Please " he said, concern in his voice.

"Alexander. I told you I was FINE" she hissed, and pushed herself out of his grasp. Then she turned, and walked out the door.

Alex sighed. 'She's just going to hate me again if I get up in her personal business. But what she's doing isn't healthy. She could- " he thought, but was cut off by Pippa yelling "Mommy!".

Alex ran to the 'living room' to see Eliza in a curled up ball, shaking. He ran up to her and put her in his lap.

"Eliza! Phillipa, what happened?!" he yelled

"I-I don't know! I was watching TV and then Mommy just fell!" she exclaimed

Alex looked from Pippa to Eliza, and noticed Eliza was passed out.

"Pippa! Get my phone!" he said to the young girl as he held Eliza tighter in his arms.

Soon he had the phone and was talking to 911

"Hi, I need an ambulance! My friend fell and passed out. We live at 38 Miranda Way. Thank you. Bye"

Pippa was scared, watching her mom passed out in her first father figure's lap, and to make it worst of all, Alex was crying.

"Pippa! Get your jacket and hat, and get Mommy's jacket, ok sweetheart?" Alex said, and started to rock Eliza

"O-okie, Alex" she responded and ran to get the jackets. She was coming back when she heard the sirens, and when there was a loud knock on the door, she screamed and ran to Alex, hugging him for dear life.

"Pip... it's ok. I got you. Stand right next to me, ok?" he said, calming the poor girl

"Okie Alex" she responded shakily, as Alex went up to open the door.

Sooner or later they were sitting in an ambulance.

"Oh, Eliza..."
