Title: Replaceable
Backstory: Conan and Gavin had been dating for a year now, still doing investigations and sacrificing eachother when the other is about to be harmed. Yet, what happens when it's taken too far?
----
"Conan." There it was again. Conan would be working as always and then, Gavin, his human and attractive boyfriend, would stand behind him and say his name a million times before Conan would actually answer. Though, Conan was not in the mood today, he got into a fight with Lieutenant Anderson, nothing physical, just...an exchange between insults. Mainly because Lieutenant Anderson insulted Gavin and Conan, being his boyfriend, got angry. Though, Gavin was elsewhere so he hadn't heard of it.
"Not today, Gav." Conan huffed. Gavin's arms wrapped around Conan. "Gavin..." Conan warned, lowly.
"Conan." Gavin replied. Conan sighed, leaning back into the embrace.
"What?" Conan groaned but still leaned into the mans touch.
"Love you." Gavin said like a child and kissed the androids cheek. Conan felt a small bit better, but not a whole lot. He still felt in one of the most sour moods he's ever had. Conan felt more than just anger...he was enraged. Conan sighed, softly.
"Love you too, Gav." Conan let out a small smile, looking up at Gavin. Suddenly, Lieutenant Anderson walked up, slapping a hand on Gavin's upper back, making the shorter man stumble foward.
"Hey, buddy." He dragged out as Gavin gave him one of his glares. "How about you two take our case today?"
"What? Are you scared of a little investigating?" Gavin's eyes rolled to the side. "'Oh no, Connor! We've got a dead android! Run away!'" Gavin snickered. Lieutenant Anderson faked a laugh then shoved him into Conan's desk. Conan stood in front of the Lieutenant, his grey eyes glared with fiery.
"We'll take your case. Just leave Gavin alone." Lieutenant Anderson smiled, satisfied and walked back to his desk.
"Conan," Gavin began to say but was interrupted by Conan holding his hand up as he turned around.
"Let's get the information then leave as quickly as possible."
The investigation didn't take long to figure out - but now, a gang of deviants were shooting at the two behind cover."Goddamit, Hank! Get backup down here now! It's a whole fucking gang!" Gavin shouted into his phone, having forgotten his walkie-talkie.
Conan held Gavin's handgun, waiting for the bullets to stop blazing by their cover. When they did for a second, Conan sat up, shooting at a deviant, who fell over and was immediately gone. Conan ducked down again, the bullets continued to rain on them.
"Backup will be here soon," Gavin said to Conan, "not soon enough though!" Conan nodded and sat up above cover again, shooting at another deviant who dodged skillfully and managed to shoot Conan's right shoulder. Conan fell back into cover.
"Dammit! We can't stay here! They'll gun us down!" Gavin shouted to Conan. Conan looked at him, his once hard expression went soft. "Conan?" Gavin asked his boyfriend, worridly.
"Don't get out of cover," Conan's hard expression reappeared, "I'm replaceable, you're not!" Conan suddenly stood up, shooting in all directions.
"Conan!" Gavin shouted, desperately. Conan hid behind another cover when an android came up behind him. Conan kicked his shin then knee, making the deviant collapse to his knees. Conan then shot him, ending his programming. Conan soun around to see a saving farther away, pulling the trigger quickly at Conan. Conan shut his eyes, ready for the impact...
But it didn't hit. Conan's eyelids shot open and found Gavin in front of him, falling back. The android caught Gavin and set him gently on the ground, synthetic tears gathering in his eyes. Conan stood back up, shooting the deviant immediately, ending the gang. Conan threw himself back down to Gavin, seeing the blood rush from Gavin's chest.
"Gavin! You idiot..!" Conan breathed out, shaking as he placed his head on the mans shoulder, sobbing.
"Conan, look at me," Gavin heaved out, his hand touching the androids face, guiding it to look at him. Gavin had never seen the android cry, let alone look so distressed, "you're not replaceable..."
"I am! CyberLife would transfer by memories to a new body, you fucking..." Conan's simulated breath was caught in a sob, his thirium pump felt like it was breaking and shutting down.
"You're not replaceable." Gavin repeated. Conan kissed Gavin, quickly.
"Just..just hold on, Gavin! Backup with get here then...then..." Conan's voice went away as Gavin's eyes blinked slowly.
"Conan...I'm not gonna make it-"
"Don't fucking say that!" Cknan hissed, the synthetic tears dropped down off his face.
"Conan, I love you so much..." Gavin's breath slowed.
"Gavin, please!" Conan yelled, hearing sirens. "Just hold on!" Gavins hand left the androids cheek and went limp, falling down to the side. His breathing became slower and came to a stop.
