Conan flipped through his story, sighing out of boredom. It was late midnight and he would wait longer, ignoring the exhaustion resting into his bones just for his love interest. They weren't actually dating because of their positions in life. Conan was a prince and Gavin was the head of the guard. Plus, both were males. It would never be accepted, both of the men knew that and Gavin was the one who hated it with a burning passion. Conan was rarely busy with anything while Gavin was running around, busy almost every hour of the day. Conan sighed, looking at his lantern next to his bed. He always kept it on at night.

The prince slammed the book shut, tossing it to the floor. Sappy romance novel, as usual. He wasn't very embarrassed about liking romance novels but some of the novels get...descriptive. Anyway.

Conan's ears perk up when he heard a knock at his window. The male rushed over after tripping off of his bed. Conan pushed open the shutters, seeing the man he's been thinking about. Gavin must've snuck away quickly because he was still in his armor.

"Took you long enough." Conan growled, bitterly, crossing his arms.

"Why are you still awake?" Gavin ignored Conan's bitterness, taking off the helmet, his brown hair going crazy after being held for so long.

"Waiting for you, obviously." Conan rolled his gray blue eyes with annoyance. Gavin hopped into the room with a clunk.

"You shouldn't have." Gavin looked up at the tall prince. The two stared at each other, both slightly annoyed with the other. Even so, Conan grabbed Gavin's face, gently and kissed him, quickly. Gavin returned it.

"I can't stay long." Gavin mumbled, weakly. He hated leaving Conan alone, knowing the prince would always stay up just to see if he'd come again later in the night.

"When will my father give you a break?" Conan stared into Gavin's green eyes, the question hurting both of them for all they wanted was to spend a whole day in each other's arms.

"When Hell freezes over." The knight chuckled, weakly. Conan shook his head at the joke, smiling only barely. Conan kissed him on the lips again.

"Let's hope that's soon, then." Conan replied with his smile growing more. Conan kissed Gavin's scar on his nose, lovingly. Gavin sighed with content, closing his eyes as he does. Only to open them again, upset.

"I have to go before they get suspicious." Conan nodded, letting go of Gavin's face, hesitantly. Gavin glanced at Conan's bed, seeing the romance novel laying there.

"You read romance novels?" Gavin looked at the prince, confused. Conan blushed lightly, looking away.

"Mainly about lovers like us and," Conan paused, sucking in a heated breath, "rather descriptive things they do with each other." Gavin smirked almost immediately at him and kissed his lover.

"One day, Conan. I'll take care of you in that way." Gavin's voice was husky and deep with seduction, making Conan's heart beat fast with hope.

"I'll hold that to you, Gavin."

The next afternoon..

Conan walked gracefully to his fathers throne after being summoned for an announcement. Conan felt nervous. He had heard of most prince's having an arranged marriage and since he was the oldest and next in line for king, he would have to have one if the king so desires to. Conan opened the doors to the main hall with a heavy sigh and walked closer as his father watched him. Conan gave a quick bow.

"You wanted to see me?" Conan's eyes caught a familiar face next to the throne, Gavin. Gavin looked at him but didn't smile as usual, making Conan more afriad than he already was.

"Yes," King Hank nodded, looking at him, "as you know, most princes in other lands have arranged marriages," oh God, "so I have decided that you will have one as well with a fair maiden."

Conan gulped. Every part of him wanted to just agree as to not start conflict but one look at Gavin changed Conan's mind. Gavin looked absolutely torn and heartbroken. How can Conan just agree to this? Not only would it break him but Gavin as well.

"No, I'd rather not." Conan looked at the king, sternly, shocking both the knight and king.

"What?" Hank questioned out of anger but not much.

"I'm not attracted to females." Conan looked at Gavin, who was completely surprised, choking on words.

"Conan, what are you doing?" Gavin asked the prince, aloud.

"Saying something that should've been said a long time ago." Conan lowly replied, looking back to his father.

"Conan-" Gavin was interrupted by Conan's words.

"I am attracted to men," Conan suddenly stomped towards Gavin, taking the knights helmet off when he reaches the short man, "but only one specific man." Conan grabbed Gavin's face with each hand, cupping the tan face belonging to the love of his life. Conan pulled him into a passionate, long kiss and eventually lost count of how long it was. When they pulled away, feet echoed the hall behind Conan. Colin, Connor and Colton both stood there. Conan told them a few days ago about what he and Gavin were and all of his brothers did nothing but support both of them. Colin seemed to be more happy about It than the others.

"Father," Colin chirped up, looking at Hank, who he was absolutely afriad of, "you don't have to support them but please, don't kill them.."

A small silence ran through the hall. "Why would I kill my own son?" Conan looked at Hank, as did Gavin, hither surprised.

"Why didn't you tell me? I only wanted to arrange a marriage for you so you could find someone." Hank stood, looking at Conan.

Conan stuttered over his words, shocked. "I thought you..but you do.." his mouth was dry.

"Wait," Connor chipped in, "Father, you support Conan?"

"Of course I do!" Hank yelled, defensively but smiling.

"In that case," Connor sighed, "I'm attracted to no one!" Colton giggled beside him as Colin smiled. As they did, Conan kissed Gavin again, keeping him close. After, he leaned close to Gavin's ear and whispered;

"Remember, I'm still holding that promise to you." Gavin smirked, Whispering back,

"Never said I wouldn't continue to keep it a promise."
