Title: I'm Here

Gavin kept his blankets over his head, the cold getting into his unheated apartment. It was fucking cold and Gavin couldn't stop hearing noises from his living room. He figured it was his cats but he was too lazy to check. The man turned himself into a burrito, still shaking from the cold. The landlord still hasn't fixed the damn heater and it was pissing Gavin off with each passing day. The noise in his living room grew louder and he had enough. Gavin threw the blanket off of him and walked out to the living room in his black tank top and sweatpants.

"Goddamit, I swear to God, if that noise is you, Jerry, I'm," but he was cut short of his threat, seeing a bright red LED floating just above his couch. Gavin threw his arm back at the light switch, turning it on as his eyes closed from the sudden light. After his green eyes adjusted to the bright light, they landed on the RK900 model, who was his partner for crime scenes. Conan always hung out at his house for awhile before heading to the station but why was he still here?

And why is he crying, holding Gavin's jacket?

"Android?" Gavin questioned, his anger deflating slowly as he watched the android sob. Conan never took off his jacket for anything but this moment, when all he wore now was his black turtle neck. His brown, controlled hair was now a complete mess, strands sticking every which way, almost defying gravity itself. His grayish blue eyes were red from crying synthetic tears. His body was curled up into a ball against one side of the couch as he held Gavin's leather jacket very close to him, his face almost disappearing into it. Gavin approached him slowly, even if he was an android, Conan was still a thing with...emotions.

"Conan?" Gavin felt the word slip from his tongue and regretted it. He always called Conan clever nicknames and insults that he never called the android by his real, given name. Gavin gained closer, starting to hear that Conan was hyperventilating while sobbing. Conan never looked at him until he was a foot away.

"Come on, plastic, calm down." Gavin almost snorted at himself, never having to tell the android to calm down. Conan held onto the jacket, tighter, like it was helping somehow. Would holding Gavin make Conan feel better? Wait, why was he thinking about that?

"Take in some air, just breathe." And for once, Gavin's voice is soothing and calm. Conan blinked, another fake tear rushed down quickly as he looked away. "What happened?"

"I," The android gulped, "I was not...informed that androids could have...dreams and night..mares." nightmare? Shit. Gavin knew about nightmares so well, he could write a novel about them. Gavin sat on the couch, his body turned to the broken down android. Conan looked at him, calming down a bit with Gavin in his presence.

"I apologize...for waking you up and.." Conan pulled away from the jacket, sniffling, "and holding your jacket, Detective." Conan held out the jacket for Gavin to take, expecting him to start yelling at him but his expression said otherwise. Gavin grabbed the jacket and tossed it on the carpet floor for later.

"Forget it," Gavin watched as the android wiped his face, his simulated breathing calming down, "fuck, come here." Gavin felt embarrassed to think it but he really did like Conan. More than a friend or close friend. He loved the android. And goddammit, if he needed someone, Gavin would he there with his tsundere personality. Gavin pulled Conan into a hug, who seemed pretty startled by the gesture at first because of how tense he became. The android broke down again, remembering the nightmare but not telling the human, who didn't mind it. Gavin didn't like sharing his nightmares either.

"I'm sorry, Gavin." Conan choked, his head against Gavin's stomach, laying against him.

"Fuck it." Gavin shrugged, his fingers mindlessly running through Conan's hair, which was really soft.

"I'm here for you, you know?" Gavin blushed as he said it but he wanted Conan to know that. Machine or not, Gavin loved Conan.

"I know." And the night dragged on as Gavin fell asleep, holding Conan's head, which laid on his stomach as Conan went idle, not wanting the moment to end.
