The School
- The POVs have changed from Lei to 3rd person and will change often. Btw, I'm on a golf cart with my crazy cousin, so we are shaking like crazy and I still wanna write so hey if youre reading this.-
The cool Winter breeze hits her face, making her shiver. It's a lot colder here than she expected. Lei wraps her arms tighter around her body, wishing she had remember to bring a jacket with her.
Lei and her mother had just moved from America to Australia nearly two weeks ago, yet she still had managed to stay inside on her laptop talking to her friends on Facebook for thirteen days. The summer she loved had come to an end when they hopped on the plane to another continent, leaving her friends behind. Some of them at least.
Lei's mother was not having it - her daughter sitting around inside all day - that is, so she decided to force her to have a stroll around the neighbor hood at least once a day, maybe making a friend.
So as she walks down Parker Street, she thinks if how her life could be right now if her father loved her, if he hadn't had to escape prison, Lei could actually be happy.
After thinking every detail to happen, she found herself wondering back up to her driveway.
"Hey, Mother." She greets her mother in the kitchen. "Hey, how was your walk?"
Lei
"It was fine." I say before stealing a grape mother was currently washing.
Then it was silent. But a comfortable silence. The air wasn't thick like how we spoke a week ago. We have adjusted I guess.
"That nice. You know you start back school tomorrow." She raises her eyebrows.
"Yes," Unfortunately," But why can't I just be home schooled?"
She sighs. "We've been over this a thousand times, you should go to school."
I groan before walking to my room where I would be spending the rest of the night.

3rd Person
Morning comes before the speed of light and Lei was trying to get ready for her first day of school.
"Dammit." She whispered. "Why won't this fucking curler do anything?" Groaning, Lei unplugged the curler and decided to leave its natural waves.
An hour later and she finally had gotten her self presentable enough to go to school for her first day.
Walking down the stairs, she holds her book bag in one hand, and her phone in the other. Lei then walked out to of the house and onto her bike before eating anything for breakfast.

It only took about five minutes to get from my house to the school, which made me happy it wasn't long.
When getting to the building, I spot a bike rack on the side by the bricks and decide to park it there.
Pulling back slightly I try to stop the old ratty piece of shit I had sense I was fourteen. But it wouldn't stop. The breaks were broken. Immediate panic took over my body. Then, it was to late and I rambled into the brick, flipping out of my bike.
"What the hell?" I hear and Australian accent call out, obviously seeing my mishap. "Are you alright?" He asked grabbing my wrist - my blazing wrist - and pulling me from the ground up to his face. A beautiful face in that matter.
"What's this?" The boy said rubbing his thumb over my wrist, then turning it over scanning the tears and cuts on the skin.
"Oh, nothing... I just.. run into walls often. It's no big deal." Lie. I don't like how my first instinct is to lie, but I wouldn't admit anything to someone I had just met.
He looked at my face with pure concern. "I'm fine." I brush him off collecting my things and walking away. My bike was still on the ground by the boy and my phone was cracked but anything to get out of the conversation.
I walk toward some double doors I were assuming would be the entrance.
I got some pretty rude looks from the people on the hall. Great. This won't be easy.
Finally getting to a door with the words "Principal" appear and I open it slowly to see a lady. She has brown curly hair pulled back showing her bangs. She wears mostly grey and sits at a desk currently writing something down on paper.
When I close the door, her head snaps up to meet my face. "Ah, Lei Moore am I correct?" She smiles and I nod.
"Well, Ms. Moore I'm Mrs. Grenfell and I think you'll love it here."
I smile. "Alright," She stands up. "Your mother filled out everything so you don't have to. I'll show you where your first class is and here is the rest of schedule." She hands me a piece of paper with teacher names and room numbers all on it, then shows me to my class.
"306." Mrs. Grenfell opens the door. "Yes, this is your student Mr. Lucas. This is Lei Moore."
My eyes immediately land the boy who had turned to see me come in. The same boy. "Yes, well, Lei you can sit down in that free seat in the back."
I try to look down at my paper to avoid eye contact with anyone and walk to the chair, making a screech noise as it glides across the floor.
"Sorry," I apologize before sitting down. The two adult talk for a minute. All the kids turn back around to finish their work. As do I try to fill out an information slip. Looking up, a boys hazel eyes are locked on mine. "Please, turn around. I'm trying to finish this." I say to the rude man. He turn back around to write down and I'm fine with that.
