"Where were you last night?" Ashley demanded the next morning, tugging on my sleeve.

"Not here," I retorted.

"Clearly," Harper sighed. "We were afraid the Mudblood was going to lose it."

It was the first day of classes for our second year and I wasn't even out of the common room yet before my friends attacked me for being out last night. I had managed to escape the dormitories with Lainey five minutes before everyone else woke up so that they wouldn't bother me. That didn't work out very well.

"Going somewhere?" A voice drawled behind me. I turned around and to my great displeasure, it was my "brother". I growled at the boy.

    "Go away," I snapped.

"I'm not sure if I can do that," said Luke, following the other six of my friends. They had quickly gotten dressed to meet us for breakfast in the Great Hall and we were now scurrying down the flights of stairs. We were getting our schedules this morning anyway so we needed to get down there early.

"I'm so hungry, I'm going to throw up," Ashley panted.

"I don't think that's how that works," Lainey declared, sitting down next to me. Luke tried to sit next to me but Lainey shoved him away and made him sit at the far end of the table and away from us.

"Again," Lainey scolded me. "You're too nice."

"There is no such thing," I admitted as I grabbed a roll and began to butter it.

    "There is too-"
    "Is not-"

    "Is too-"

    "Is not-"

"Excuse," Snape interrupted, slamming his hand down on the table between us. I jumped "Me."

    "Morning, Professor Snape-"

"Who are you?" He asked snottily.

"I'm Ryan Harper, Sir. I was in your Potions class last year." I rolled my eyes as he continued to act weird around him and I laughed to myself when Snape ignored him.

"Your schedules," He droned, handing Lainey and I each one. He had given me Lainey's and Lainey mine so we switched. "Don'tmess them up this year, Higgins."

"What do you mean, mess them up? I didn't mess them up-"

"I mean, don't be late," Snape spat, stopping behind me again. "Greengrass. Pucey. Harper. Anderson. Flemming. Malfoy."

Each one of them jumped up and grabbed their schedule as Snape threw their schedules in the air except Melody who made Ashley get hers. I laughed when Malfoy got a papercut on his cheek from the flying papers.

"Pr-Professor Snape. Fix this at once!" He demanded. Lainey and I completely lost our cool and bellowed in amusement, the Great Hall echoing with our laughs.

"Oh-oh. I'm dying! Professor Snape, p-please help me!" Lainey cried, mocking Malfoy.

"I-I can't even take on a piece of p-paper without it trying to kill me! I'm just a weakling," I said in a high-pitched voice, jumping my eyebrows at Malfoy. The entire Gryffindor table now roared with pleasure and laughter, causing the Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs to glance up in shock. I was nearly crying at this point, I was laughing so hard. Lainey and I were now leaning against each other, pretending to faint and cool each other off. Snape was motionless. If anything, he looked slightly amused.

Malfoy violently grabbed my robes and dragged me out of the Great Hall as everyone continued to laugh, causing Lainey to fall back onto the seat. "You think this is funny, do you?"
