"Vince, where are you?" I asked, voice oozing annoyance. He wasn't paying me enough to play babysitter, given that this business wouldn't have been standing anymore if not for my glorious self making sure that this dickhead spent a minuscule time of his life actually working. Dickhead being exactly the right word for him since his dick was the main part of his body dedicated to thinking.
"Vince," I snapped when he didn't answer, and earned myself a tired groan. Of course, I already knew where he was given that I kept track of his phone, but I wanted him to admit that he was a lowly slut.
There was another very tiredly sounding person speaking close to his end of the line, though too far away for me to make out the words. Suspecting it was Joe, I narrowed my eyes as I imagined them both still entangled in the sheets, slacking off. "Vince, you're answering me right now or I'll hand in my resignation before you can crawl out of bed."
"You wouldn't," he argues stubbornly. Since I knew that he'd never dare test me, I remained quiet. He cracked after three seconds. "I'm at Joe's, I needed someone to talk to."
I sighed, rubbing my eyebrows. "Baby, we both know you don't talk, okay? That's the one thing you and your pet have in common."
"We've got shit in common, Leah," he snapped suddenly, obviously angry though I had yet to find out why. I guessed that something interesting had happened given the fact that he'd spent the night at Joe's. While I certainly didn't mind the mental image of my two gorgeous CEOs getting it on together, Joe was the worst.
Period.
And not just because he'd tried to get into my pants once I'd started working for Vince.
And not just because he'd then tried to get Vince into my pants, either.
I might've started to seriously dislike him when he'd attempted to get into my girlfriend's pants, though. Yes, that might've been it. Anything after that had only made it worse.
Joe was Vince' best friends, and he was also a contributing factor to my baby's sluttyness.
"You didn't have breakfast yet, right?"
Vince grunted in response.
"Good, I'll be picking you up in twenty, so get cleaned up and Joe out of my sight."
I hung up on him before he could start an argument that he was going to lose eventually, and quickly grabbed my purse to make my way over. If I had a penny for every time I needed to drag Vince' sorry ass back to work, I wouldn't have been needing that pay raise.
To my surprise, Vince had actually finished showering when I arrived, though Joe was still hanging around. Hair still wet, they stood next to each other, looking as if someone had snatched them straight out of some ridiculously sexist perfume ad. Joe smiled lazily while Vince' expression was the usual.
"I told you to get Joe out of my sight," I reminded him pointedly, causing his worse half to chuckle.
"You're his secretary, I think you're the one doing what he says."
My gaze snapped onto the asshole. "Don't even try to bullshit me. I'm the one running your guys' business, and you know that perfectly well. If not for me, we'd actually need to get you a secretary and here's another thing you know perfectly well, nobody would want –"
"Stop it," Vince groaned, finally stepping away from that leech. He snuck his arm around my waist, then kissed the top of my head in a way of greeting – oh boy, was he feeling terrible about something.
"I'll be seeing you at the office," Joe said while staring straight at me, his voice dangerously low. He liked to threaten me, but thanks to Vince, my job was safe. Besides, the guy wouldn't last a day without me, and we both knew it. Vince wasn't the only CEO who's schedule I was managing.
