Outfits- Liu Yan

Here are the informal outfits for Yams. She got two sets in total because I am extra.

One of her hanfu is the waist-high ruqun, it can be worn either parallel or crossed collar. My preference is the first one as it renders the chest undergarment visible. A ruqun can be worn with jackets too- Which, the pick here is the Daxiushan.

Since such ruqun hugs the waist,  it is able to accentuate the waistline for a feminine figure. Yan has a petite build but leaning towards athletic, her waist is more defined than slim so she'd appreciate that 'fashion hack'.

Truth is she's self-conscious about her lack of curves.

I tried drawing them different. I tried.

She'd only wear this outfit at home or basically a day off work and training. Despite the tough girl persona, deep down she still has a bit of a dainty heart; She's inclined to subtle jewelry and make up!

With the absence of a motherly figure in most part of her life, there is only so much she can learn in fashion and beauty.

Second hanfu, a yuanlingpao this time. Paired with leather arm guards and boots. A type of hanfu for man but Yan doesn't pay those rules any mind.

She wears this for duty and sparring sessions. Movements are made so much easier but she'd still fight even in a ruqun, albeit annoyed by the long fabric's restrictions.

I know the main palette is black even though it should of been green, but I like it to be a contrast to Shu's knight in shining armor imagery (plus black is cool).

Fun fact about this pao is that this is a gift from Zhao Yun -or she'll be stealing his hanfu to wear- to encourage her to train with him more.

Finally, she has an alternate outfit which features a more heavy armored look. Haven't figure out the palette, when it's done (god knows when) there'll be another update! Here is a sneak preview:
