> Liu Yan and Zhao Yun's relationship is playful and loving. Although they appear cool and collected in public and during work, Yun and Yan are not below teasing one another and love messing around with each other. Endearing insults, inside jokes, silly mini-competitions, bets, harmless pranks are what you can expect them doing on almost a daily basis.
> Besides sharing a quirky and fun personal life, both of them knew when buckle down and get serious when duty calls. During battle, the are in sync and coordinated enough to make an intimidating team. Whilst war is not to be taken lightly, Yan still lives for the thrill of battle- She'd try to instill certain 'fun'; Challenging Yun to see who'd defeat the most enemies or who'd take down a garrison the quickest. In spite of that, her little ideas would at times ironically add to Yun's frustration, out of worry that she'd injured herself or getting her subordinates into trouble.
> As casual and lighthearted as their relationship may seem, Yun and Yan have a deep connection and are extremely important to one another. The two of them have struggled with loss and constantly having to deal with danger or running from threats. As such, they are very emotionally and spiritually linked and greatly rely on one another for support when times are necessary.
Yan faces a past the looms over her head and doubts that shroud her mind; doubts of herself, and if she truly deserves happiness. Yun's genuine support and loyalty helped her to rethink that she truly is loved and worthy of being loved.
On the other hand, Yun is dragged to fight time and time again with constant danger being thrown at those he cared for. Work and movement are intensely harsh on him. Yan's presence would calm him down and her care would remind him to be hopeful.
