I hugged my parents good bye and walked into an empty compartment. "Good morning Athena!" Lily froze when she saw Lorcan and Lysander sitting on the opposite side from me. Or more specifically. She froze when she saw Lysander smiling at her.
"Uhm, hi guys" She sat down besides me as I greeted Piper, Daniel, Katherine and Quentin walked in.
"How was your summer?" Lysander Asked Lily "It was uneventful" Lily mumbled. Soon enough their conversation was involved with quidditch, Classes, Favorite candy, All sorts of stuff.
I tuned out their conversation and watched as we passed multiple trees and mountains.
"Athena?" I I turned to look at Katherine "Sorry" She smiled at me "It's alright" she chuckled.
My eyelids got heavier and heavier by the second.
"Athena run!" Running through the woods occasionally looking back to see if she was still behind me.
I could hear foot steps after me but I couldn't be sure of who it was.
Taking a sharp turn I hid behind a large rock.
"You don't have anywhere to run" Was all I heard before the crucio spell was casted followed by a horrid scream.
Looking over the rock I saw the figure I knew to well fall down on her knees with tears streaming down her face.
She stared into my eyes and managed to smile.
I couldn't hold it in anymore so I screamed, waiting for the voices to come find me, but they never did. I stood up from my hiding place I noticed everything around me had froze to ice including the people.
I tried to move my legs make them walk forward but it seemed as if I was frozen too.
Suddenly I bolted awake and faced the others in my compartment. Their conversation was still going as if I only was asleep for a few minuets.
"Okay there Dawn?" Quentin put a comforting hand on my shoulder and I just nodded "Dawn?, whose Dawn?" Quentin smiled at Lily "Dawn is her middle name" Lily's mouth formed an o-shape as she nodded.
"Quiet interesting I suppose" Our heads turned to the entrance of the compartment, there already in his robes stood Thomas with his arms crossed. "Thomas!" I exclaimed running up to him and hugging him tightly "It's just been five days since we last saw each other" He patted my back "Still" he chuckled.
We both sat down next to Lily again.
And then soon enough we saw the beautiful castle we all knew as Hogwarts.
"We're here!" Lorcan clasped his hands tighter and stood up.
As everyone started exiting the train our group was was the last ones to exit. Cliché Right.
"How was your holiday?" Daniel Asked every one as he held Pipers hand "You waited the whole train ride to ask us" I pointed out and laughed "Mine was good" Thomas and I replied at the same time "Yeah, Alright, ask me" I rolled my eyes at him "How was your holiday Quentin?" I asked in a bored tone.
"We're engaged!" Katherine showed her engagement ring and nodded, smiling I pulled the both of them into a hug "I knew it from the moment you two sat in the library every Monday studying together!" I exclaimed happily as everyone else congratulated them.
"Well, one out of four" Piper sighed "Four?, there's only three couples in here" Daniel questioned her "Sandilly Of course" Piper rolled her eyes as if it was obvious "What does Sandilly mean?" I asked.
In which she only looked at Lysander and Lily who were having a conversation about how interesting Quidditch, And Hogwarts was.
I nodded finally understanding.
"Yes indeed" Lorcan slouched besides me.
"Hurry up!" Everyone went out of the carriages and into the great hall and got settled on the Ravenclaw table, I hugged Thomas good bye and joined the others, as McGonagall gave her normal speech I couldn't help but notice James -whom sat besides me- looked a bit off.
"James are you alright?"
"Very"
He shifted his attention to McGonagall again when suddenly the hall doors opened.
Standing there was a boy, he was fairly tall and looked like he had traveled long to get here.
The boy was not in any robes, so it didn't look like he knew what was going on.
"You must be Xavier Greenwood, am I right?" The boy, Xavier nodded "come forward"
Xavier made his way towards the front where McGonagall placed the sorting stool again. He sat down and Headmistress McGonagall put the hat on top of his head. It was silent first. "HUFFLEPUFF!" The hat screamed.
Everyone clapped and cheered for him even though we didn't know who he was, I felt a hand hold mine and looked down to see James hand. But looking up at his face, he was a bit pale and his eyes were teary, yet no tears escaped.
"Please promise me you'll stay safe this year" He whispered.
I was so shocked that I only nodded and held his hand.
