Chapter 6: A Trickster

I turned towards the door. Then, I saw her. Amy. Like me, she was battered and bruised. Her eyes were the same, though. Her eyes were bright emerald green with golden flecks.
"Amy? Is that really... is that really you?" I asked. She smiled, tears brimming in her eyes.
"Yes... and it seems like I'm not the only trickster." Suddenly, I was flooded by emotions. I burst into tears.
"Jake! I-I'm Sorry!" Said Amy. "Please stop crying!"
"I'm.... I'm not crying from sorrow... I'm crying from happiness. I thought you were dead. Now, seeing you alive.... I'm just... overjoyed" I rushed over and hugged her. She whimpered slightly and I realized that I felt a strange liquid coat my hand. I looked at my hand and saw that it was coated in blood. My eyes widened.

"May! Quick! Amy's hurt!" I said. I let go of Amy and May guided her away quickly. I sat down and rubbed my temples. 

"What happened to her do you wonder?" asked Elijah, sitting down next to me.

"She... she was tortured. Nothing in any of the districts could have caused something like this...."

"Oh... Well, at least you two are together again, Hormones" I scowled.

"Did you seriously just call me Hormones?"

"Yep!"

"Wow. Just wow" He grinned.

A few minutes later, May came out of the room.

"Amy'll be okay. She's asleep right now. I had to give her a few stitches for her cuts." I nodded.

"Can I go in and see her?"

"Um... I guess" She said, nodding. I walked into the room. Amy was sleeping peacefully. I sat down in the chair next to her and took her hand in mine. She opened her eyes slightly and looked up at me. I smiled down at her.

"Hey Ames" I said softly.

"Hey..." She murmured.

"It's great to see you again. I've missed you so much"

"I've missed you more."

"How did you survive?"

"It's my power... illusions... tricks of the mind..."

"So your powers returned from the stings too?"

"Yes... they did"

"I... I..." I didn't quite know what to say. Amy opened her eyes fully. I said quietly,

"I just wish there was some way to tell you how much I missed you" She smiled.

"Well... actions speak louder than words."

She then sat up and kissed me.
