Don't worry, Lily lovers! The next chapter will be up soon. But in the meantime, here are my ten favorite moments from season five of Trolls: The Beat Goes On!
#10 The Multiverse (Wormhole)
After escaping paradise, Poppy and the gang discover that the wormhole they traveled through has been split up into different paths, and each of them leads to an alternate universe. From gender-bending to a scrapbook world made by Keith, the Trolls struggle to find their own world, especially when the wormhole begins to collapse. Luckily, Cooper finds their world just in time, and they're welcomed back into the village with open arms.
#9 Branch The Swamp Monster (Don't Worry Be Peppy)
Poppy fears her father is getting bored now that he's no longer king, so she convinces the Trolls to make problems for him to solve so he would feel important again. Unfortunately, this plan backfires when Cooper makes up a swamp monster, and Guy Diamond has everyone feel sorry for him. Desperate, Poppy dresses Branch up as the monster and even covers him up in mud. When King Peppy arrives, he attempts to hug the “monster," but Branch gives a performance convincing the former king he isn't a hugger. At least there's no real swamp monster... right?
#8 Magic Scrapbook (Scrap To The Future)
Poppy can be a little too obsessed with making things perfect. When she finds a scrapbook that can predict the future during the Hearts and Crafts Festival, she becomes determined to prevent any bad prediction from happening. She saves various Trolls, but the last prediction ends up being everyone being disappointed at the festival, Poppy goes overboard making sure everyone has what they need. She doesn't realize until it's too late, however, that she's the reason the predictions came true, and eventually gets rid of the scrapbook... only for it to travel through time to when Poppy found it in the first place. Yeah, I'm not sure how that happened either.
#7 Attack of the Finders Keepers (Dark Side Of The Lagoon)
Once you drop something into the lagoon, you can never get it back. Poppy learns this the hard way when she loses DJ Suki's family heirloom, a disco ball called the Star Maker, and heads down in a submarine to get it back. It's revealed that all of the lost items are hoarded by possessive crabs and they attack the sub when their stuff is taken. Poppy gives most of the stuff back so they could let go, but they still want more. The only option left is to give them what she went after. It's then revealed the Star Maker is actually the box, which has the ability to turn rocks into Disco balls. Maybe Poppy should have confessed sooner and save some time.
#6 Laser Diamond (Glitter Loss)
After accidentally losing his glitter, Guy Diamond goes on a journey to the legendary Fountain of Glitter, where it gives you a shine greater than your pride. Unfortunately, Guy has too much pride, and his excessive bragging makes him shine brighter and brighter until he begins to burn down the village. Feeling guilty, he decides to leave Troll Village, admitting that he was full of himself and this makes his glow fade. Guy Diamond decides he shouldn't let his pride get in the way and be at least a little more humble.
#5 The Catchiest Song Ever (Ear Worm)
DJ Suki creates the catchiest tune ever, and Smidge, Cooper, and Guy Diamond fall in love with it and play it non-stop for the rest of the day. Unfortunately, this causes the song to get stuck in their heads. Poppy tries to help with fake snakes and onion cupcakes, but neither works. The Trolls nearly give up, until Poppy sings a song even catchier than DJ's, and it gets rid of their earworm... but it gives Poppy her own. Here we go again.
#4 Meet The Parents (Three's A Cloud)
If there's one thing Branch cherishes, it's personal space, and one thing he loathes, Cloud Guy. The latter decides to move into the bunker, however, to get away from his parents, voiced by Jim Belushi and Jane Kaczmarek. Thinking it'll get rid of him, Branch invites Cloud Guy's parents over, but they decide to move in as well and smother the two of them. Branch and Cloud Guy decide the only way to get rid of them is to prove they can take care of themselves. It works, fortunately, and they head off to see their other children.
#3 Snowed In (Snow Day)
Winter is very short in Troll Village, and it snows only one day a year. Branch plans to make up for all the years he missed Snow Day, but ends up being trapped in his own home by the snow. He manages to open the hatch, but his bunker ends up turning into a winter wonderland. Branch tries to get out by ice skating, snowboarding and climbing up the frozen walls, but by the time he gets out, all of the snow melts, ending the holiday. Even though he was inside, Branch did all the activities he planned to do, and managed to enjoy his first Snow Day.
#2 Branch's Babies (Bringing Up Birdy)
Branch's ornithophobia is no secret in Troll Village, but when three baby birds mistake him for their mother, he is unwillingly forced to take care of them until they're ready to be on their own. He teaches them how to fly, find food, build homes, until he teaches them all they need to know. Once the birds fly away, he pretends not to miss them, though it's pretty clear he does. One night, he dreams they're in danger, which turns out to be true. He rescues his babies and says goodbye to them properly. Of course, Branch isn't completely over his fear of birds, but he loves the three he raised nonetheless.
Honorable Mentions
Dance Padlock (Glitter Loss); Ding Dong, That's A No-no! (Guy Misses Out); Branch Learned Something (Mr. Glittercakes)
#1 We're The Trolls (New Anthem)
Now that the Trolls and Bergens are friends, the Troll Village Anti-Bergen anthem can be considered outdated. Poppy decides her kingdom needs a new anthem and has some Trolls write and perform their own song. Unfortunately, Poppy focuses too much on what she thinks the new anthem should be, that she doesn't realize that her friends were just singing about who they are and what they love. She decides to mix all of their songs together, and creates an anthem that celebrates the diversity of Troll Village. This reminds the Trolls that despite their differences, they will always be together to celebrate each other.
