The bar was further up the road like the woman had said. We were passing street lights when suddenly the lights were gone and road went from pavement to gravel. It was like the town cut off this part cutting off the bar. I put my high beams on and was able to see finally the road, after about 20 minutes I found the bar sitting on the right side. We turned right into the drive way and parked on the right side of the building. There were pickup trucks and motorcycles parked out front and all around. The flashing sign above the bar read Cravens Place.
We walked up the steps and stepped inside. The place had seen better days with paint chipping off the walls and beat up chairs. The place smelled like booze and cigarettes all normal smells for a bar. We walked up the counter and sat on the bar stool. We really stood out with our dresses because everyone wore black and looked like bikers.
"How can I help you ladies." The bartender asked for our drinks while cleaning off two glasses.
"I'll take a beer."
"And I'll have a whiskey on ice." I always loved whiskey. It could put hair on your chest but the burn felt good.
"Right away." He opened a fridge at the back counter and pulled out a beer popping off the cap and handing it to Lillian, he then placed a tumbler in front of me with four ice cubes and poured the brown liquid half way barley covering all the ice cubes. "Enjoy ladies." He went back to cleaning glasses.
"This place is rough Lillian, I can feel everyone's eyes burning into the back of my skull." I placed my hand on the back of my head to get my point across.
"Eh just ignore them, I am." She took a swig from her beer not noticing the guy walking up beside her about to approach her.
"Well it looks like you ladies aren't from around here." He was a short chubby man with a long black braid and had a scar running down the side of his face, starting at the top of his right temple down to just above the outer corner of his lip. He smelled like booze and sweat. He placed his hand on Lillian's arm and she quickly shrugged him off.
"Can I help you." I asked. This guy was rubbing me the wrong way and I wanted him gone. He moved to my side now and leaning up against the counter watching me.
"Boy you sure are pretty. Are you looking for some fun tonight." He slide his sweaty hand up my arm and I quickly grabbed his hand twisting his fingers back. He began to holler and was trying to yank his hand out of mine which was only making it worse.
"Touch me again I'll break every fucking finger." I let go and pushed him away. He quickly moved back lifting his hand ready to smack me across the face.
"Joe leave the girls alone." The bartender said while watching Joes every move.
"I ain't gonna let this bitch talk to me like that." He reached out and grabbed the back of my head by the hair. I felt the pull and winced.
"Star!" Lillian got up from her stool and I managed to sit her back down with with my left hand. I used my right hand to grab this asshole by the throat.
Suddenly he was quickly pulled away and let go of my hair. There he stood, the man wore dark black tight jeans, a grey t-shirt that defined every single muscle on his chest and a studded black leather jacket. He had full lips, black hair down to his shoulders and blue eyes that practically glowed.
The man was beautiful.
"Joe leave these ladies alone and go home." He held the man by the arm and glared at the short man. His voice was deep and he had to be at least 6'1.
"I'm sorry, I'll be on my way." Joe rushed past the man with his tail in between his legs, he was obviously terrified of this man. He walked up to me and Lillian looking me right in the eyes.
"Let me buy you ladies a drink." He stretched out his hand to me for a shake. I reached out and shook the mans hand never breaking eye contact.
"Star." I mentioned looking into his eyes.
"Nice to meet you Star, the names Alec Craven."
