Hello, this story is coming to a close soon so I've been dreading writing this chapter but all good things must come to an end right? That and I was on a writers block on how to start this chapter since I don't plan on showing smut on this one so I had to find a way around it.
Anyways enjoy this unedited version.

Elizabeth manners.
"Oh god, I'm a home wrecker julis." I muffled into the palms of my hands while I whined to my best friend Julia about what happened a few days ago.
"What are you talking about Liz?" She took a sip of her coffee.
had she not been listening to me?
We were at the coffee shop where I had been with Maria a few days before. I groaned and looked up at her before I spoke. "I slept with Maria, hello."
She choked mid-sip before coughing from the lack of air, "You did what now?!"
"I know, I know." I grimaced, shaking my head at the memories of Maria and me in bed. "I couldn't help it, we were arguing with each other and then the next thing I know I'm ripping her clothes off in the privacy of my hotel room."
"Well damn, now I owe Stella a massage." She murmured, worried more about this bet with my cousin then concerned about my problem.
"Hello?! Didn't you hear me!" I practically yelled, causing a few heads to turn in our direction.
"Yeah and what's the problem? You two used to screw like bunnies all the time, I don't know why you're making such a big deal about it now." She shrugged, putting her coffee down and grinning at me. "The difference now is that we actually like her more then back then so I say go for it."
"Because if you haven't noticed, there's a f*cking child in the middle now and she's married!" I blurted out, making it a big deal.
"Wait, what?"Julia shrieked, furrowing her brows together in confusion. "Who's married?"
"Maria! Jesus Julia, keep up. Will ya?" I snapped, running a hand through my hair. "Never mind, you aren't paying any attention to what I'm saying here!" I rolled my eyes as she checked her phone.
"Sorry, Stella has just been acting crazy with all this baby stuff that if I don't reply, she'll keep texting me until I do." She explained while replying to a quick text and looking up from her phone. "Anyways, Just so you know. Maria isn't married to anyone so everything you two did was fair game."
"What are you talking about?! She's married to josh her fiancé." I said in a matter of fact tone.
"Uh no, she isn't." She exclaimed, looking up from her phone with a sh*t eating grin. "She didn't tell you? I'm surprised she didn't because well you were her best friend."
"What are talking about Julia, how can she not be married to josh when they clearly have a daughter together?" I remarked, waving my hand dismissively.
"She really didn't tell you? Well she's not but I'm not going into the details since that's none of my business." She rolled her eyes and finished her cup of coffee. "You should really go talk to her about this and get the answers from her, she works at niplicks with Paul."
"What? Since when? What is going on here?" I asked Julia as I processed all of this new information.
"Just talk to Maria, anyways I have to go." She huffed, looking at her phone once more as she stood. "She's not even pregnant yet and she's acting like a crazy hormonal person." She muttered under her breath as she left the shop.
I leaned back in my seat and pondered on everything I just found out.

I entered the busy bar and took a seat at the island, "Hey Paul, give me a beer will ya?"
"Well look who it is, you've come back from the dead huh?" Paul joked as he placed a beer in front of me.
"Something like that," I muttered, popping the lid off of the beer. "Where is Maria? Julia told me she's working here."
"She's in the back, getting ready for her shift." He nodded towards the back.
"Thanks, she's going to be a little late for her shift." I informed him while moving off the stool and striding into the back of the bar without waiting for his response.
I remembered that the staff room was on the left side when Carla gave us the grand tour a few years back. I read the signs until I saw "staff room." In big bubbly letters. I opened the door to see Maria pressed against the wall being kissed by a guy I've never seen before. I cleared my throat to get their attention and they quickly pulled apart with flushed faces.
"Don't you know how to fucking knock." The asshole barked, buttoning up his shirt.
"This is my cousins bar so I'd watch your mouth if I were you." I threatened, not that I could really get this guy fired but he didn't know that. "Now leave, I need to have a word with your girlfriend."
He turned to look at Maria one last time before he pushed pass me without another word. I stepped into the room and closed the door behind me. She didn't look at me, knowing that I would be pissed about this. Instead she fixed her clothes and turned to her locker.
"I need to get to work." She said simply, closing her locker and locking it.
"So you aren't married to josh or are you cheating on him again with that guy?" I asked, blocking her way.
"That's none of your business." She hissed between clutched teeth. "Now move, I have work to do."
"Actually it is because just a few days ago, you were in my bed." I retorted, leaning my back against the door while I crossed my arms across my chest to let her know that I wasn't moving." "So start talking or we'll be here all night and god forbid your little toy suspects something right? Since you're straight."
"That was a mistake and you know it." She spoke, not looking at me. "What we did, it wasn't supposed to have happened."
"You say that but you obviously loved every minute of it." I pushed myself off of the door and walked towards her, her eyes widened while she backed away from me until her back hit the wall. I moved in on her until I trapped her between my arms. "That night we spent together was the best night we've both had, it's a shame really Maria because you'll probably deny it but I know." I lifted a hand to caress her cheek with my hand.
"F*ck off, it didn't mean anything." She breathed, leaning into my touch.
"You're such a terrible liar." I whispered, wrapping my free arm around her waist as I tugged her closer to me. "I'm the only one that can make you feel this way." I lingered my lips over hers before I pressed a soft kiss to her lips. "I'm not going to chase after you Maria, not this time. You know where I'll be, it's time you make up your mind." I pulled away and let her go, I could still feel her warmth.
"What do you mean?" She asked, touching her lips with her fingers.
"It means that I won't be your secret again." I said, taking a step back. "For me, it's always been you and up til now, I don't know what I've been to you so until you're ready for a real us." I stopped at the door without taking my eyes off of her. "I won't give you what you want, I won't look at you, I won't come running when you need me until I know that I'm your one." I murmured and stepped out of the staff room.
I don't know what will happen after this but I've been without her for a few years and I didn't die. I can deal with a few more days because the way she shivered in my arms and the way she looks at me, says everything but she has to figure that out on her own. The thought of losing me alone will make her realize that.
A smile formed on my lips as I left the bar, I was her one.
