I had chapter four ready and about to punish it but something didn't feel right so I had to rewrite it. It took me awhile but here it is. Just three or four chapters left before this story comes to an end but I have another story ready to make a splash.

Enjoy.

Elizabeth Manners.

Four years later.

I sat at the airports waiting area, waiting for Julia and Stella to show up to pick me up after a long flight back from Spain. All I really wanted was a warm shower and a nice soft bed to sleep on. It had been four long years since I left and I never thought I would show up back here again but here I was. I was called about a job at a daycare center that needed work and who was I to turn down a job right after quitting the company that I was at for the past two years without any notice. I wanted to branch out and start my own company, I had saved up quite a bit of money and now I could make my dreams come true.

I had left suddenly without a word to anyone, I was bad at goodbyes and preferred it to leave that way. I called Stella and Julia when I landed though, they were mad at me for a few days but eventually they got over it. Maria— no I wouldn't think of her, not now that I was back. She hadn't crossed my mind much after awhile but when she did, my heart ached. she would be someone I would always love but she had been toxic in our relationship. I knew deep in my heart that she was the love of my life though.

I tried dating a few times but nothing ever serious came from it, they never compared to her and I accepted that. Instead I focused on my job and my studying, I graduated top of my class and had an amazing position in the company that hired me. It was lonely at times and I missed her like hell but she made our choices, three days before I had left.

~flashback.~

March 16, 2014 [Early morning.]

I sat in the coffee shop with Julia once again, sipping my coffee. We were having a heated discussion about wether or not to tell Maria about me leaving and Julia thought it would be in my best interest if I didn't tell her about it. I had to tell her, she deserved that much right? She was still my best friend after all but Julia didn't understand that.

"I think it's royally stupid of you to even consider telling her, she's just going to make you stay." She seethed, shaking her head. "And then you do and what? She keeps you as a booty call? At that rate, you'll end up resenting her and eventually you'll end up hating her for it."

She had a point, a very good one at that but—

"Do not try to justify your clouded thoughts." She cut off whatever thought I was thinking. "Just leave and when you come back, I won't stop you from following her like some lost puppy. This will do her some good too, you know."

"How? How will this benefit her?" I glowered at her, sitting back in my chair with stubbornness written all over my face.

"Because Eli, she thinks she has this power over you which she does." She lifted a hand to shut me up before I protested. "Don't even deny it, bet if she called you right now. You'd drop me and run to her beckon call."

"You're wrong Julia."

"Oh yeah? Turn around and stay put while she sends you murderous glares." Julia grinned, looking over my shoulder.
