I Am Awkward

CHAPTER SIX- WHIP IT

it had been a week since me and Travis's date and he hadn't even texted me. since he had not texted me, i decided not to text him either. that night i had plans for Danny to pick me up right after dinner, we were going to see a movie. we had been texting alot and became really good friends. 

"OK, OK, yeah, OK, OK DANNY! i will see you at five, good bye!" Jesus that boy could hold a conversation for a lifetime. i was strangely excited to hangout with Danny. we were just friends because me and Travis were technically still dating and i didn't want to mess up me and Danny's friendship.

it was dinner time and i ate quickly. i slipped out of the dining hall and into the dorms unnoticed. only lenix and Amanda knew where i was going. once inside the room i straightened my hair and did my makeup, since we were just hanging out i decided to just wear a tank top and sweatpants. i met up with Danny at five thirty outside.

"hey you! wats up?" his smile was so genuine and it made me feel beautiful. 

"I'm just going to see a movie with THE hottest guy ever." i winked at him and started laughing. "no but seriously, why were you freaking out on the phone? its just a movie!"

"because we arn't seeing a movie! I'm taking you somewhere else." he smiled again and turned on the radio. "don't ask where we are going, cause I'm not telling you!"

"oh my god, where are we going Danny!" i got really worried because i wasn't dressed for public and i just didn't know what was going through his head.

"here, reach in the back and grab the blue bag will you?" i nodded and turned around. in the back he had a bag for his football stuff and another bag with a huge lock on it. the blue bag was under both these bag, i grabbed it and put it on my lap.

"want me to open it?" i waited for his response.

"um, yeah, just grabbed the black shorts and blue jersey, and put 'em on."

"put them on? why?"i pulled out these skanky little Sophie shorts and a light blue jersey with the words whip it on the back. "what are these for Danny?"

"just put them on Katie! do you really care if i see your bra and underwear? its not like i like you like that!" i looked at him and he was smiling, but for some reason his smile just didn't make me feel happy.  when he said he didn't like me like that it hurt, it made me feel horrible. i pretended to laugh, "ya, of coarse." i took my shirt off and glanced over to see if he was staring at me, but he didn't even peak. i took off my pants and realized i was wearing tiny lace underwear and i smiled in my head, if my bra didn't catch his attention, these will. 

before putting on my clothes i turned around and put my clothes in the back, as i did so, i turned around to see if he was staring at my ass and he wasn't, what is wrong with this boy, i thought. 

"so, where are we going?" 

"do you really want to know?" i grabbed his arm and shook it.

"YES! i really want to know! tell me!"

he smiled a crooked smile and just looked back at the road. "fine, don't tell me." right then we pulled up to a roller derby building. "ROLLER BLADING! YOU TOOK ME ROLLER BLADING!" i jumped out of the car and ran to the door. "COME ON LETS GO INSIDE!"

we got inside and there were people everywhere. the music was blaring and the strobe lights were on. "DANNY THIS IS AWESOME!" he smiled and took my hand. he pulled me into the back room where they kept the roller blades.

"grab your size and put em on." i grabbed a size 6 shoe and helmet. we got out onto the rink and i couldn't even see my own feet it was so dark. "com on! what are you just standing here for?" we held hands and started rolling. i loved the feeling of my hair whipping around and the exilaration i felt flying around in circles. on the rink i felt complete. 

"I LOVE THIS! I LOVE BEING HERE! I LOVE YOU FOR BRINGING ME HERE" i held his arm even tighter

we roller bladed together for 3 hours straight. we left at nine and went to get pizza. "that was amazing. i haven't felt like that in years. i love you so much right now." he smiled and rolled the roof down on his car. i stood up and screamed at the top of my lungs. with Danny i felt so free. "why do you have such a beautiful smile Danny?" i didn't smile myself when i said it i just stared into his eyes. i sat back down and looked out the window the rest of the ride to the pizza place.

we ordered a large cheese pizza because thats all i would eat. "give me a piece! Danny i swear!"

"tell me how much you love me! then maybe i will think about it." he winked and took a bite of pizza.

"fine." i rolled my eyes," i love you oh so very much!" 

"good enough." he put the pizza back where i could reach it. i grabbed a piece and gobbled it down. we finished the pizza and went on a walk through the moonlit streets.

we held hands like we were dating but we both knew i was dating Travis. "im going to miss you so much when i have to leave in four weeks." he ran his fingers through my untamed hair as we sat down on a bench. i laid my head on his shoulder and we just sat in silence.

i looked up at Danny and brushed the hair out of his eyes. "i wish we could stay here forever, but i need to get back." i sat up when Danny grabbed my arm and shoved his lips on mine. he tasted like strawberries and mint. it was the most perfect kiss in the whole world. i grabbed at tufts of his hair and nibbled at his lip. if this wasn't perfect i didn't know what was.
