I Am Awkward

CHAPTER SEVEN- JUST ONE MORE DRINK

Sleep deprived and hungry, I struggled to out of my tiny twin size bed. What happened with Danny had kept me from drifting into sleep all night. I knew how wrong it was to go behind Travis's back, but there was almost nothing I could do now. The morning jog helped get my mind off things and it made me less tired. The only thing I wondered now was if Danny was going to tell Travis what happened. I obviously didn't want to be the one to do it, but if I had to, I would.

“Katie are you in there?” Lenix got extremely close to my face and waved her hand in front of my eyes.

“yah, were we called for breakfast, Im starving!” I wasn't very good at keeping a secret and Lenix could see right through me, “Stop looking at me like that, I didn't do anything wrong, I said stop! He did it, it wasn't me Lenix I swear... I swear..” I started to go on a rant and for a moment, I even forgot where I was. “I'm actually not feeling very well, I'm going to wait in our room, if anyone asks say I'm in the bathroom.” With that I was out the dining hall doors and racing to my room.

My long hair was falling in my face and both my hands weren't enough to hold it back, out of the way of the toilet. As the images of last night went through my head, I vomited the breakfast I never ate. I couldn't even comprehend what I had done the night before, with a guy I had barely known. I kept dry-heaving as Lenix threw herself through the doorway with Amanda. I heard the door lock and Lenix scream.

“What is wrong with you! You ran at least three miles this morning and still you refuse to eat breakfast? Where are you? GET OUT OF THE BATHROOM AND TALK TO US! Right now.” I struggled to pull myself up and open the bathroom door. I was pale and right away Lenix knew something was extremely wrong. “what is happening, did something happen last night? You can tell us, we promise we wont tell anyone.”

“I don't know where to start,” so I started where it should have ended, “Me and Danny were sitting on a park bench and when I told him I had to go he grabbed me and kissed me.” Lenix and Amanda stared at me in awe, knowing how I felt about Travis. “I tried to pull away but he was just s tempting. I finally pulled away and just stared at him. He grabbed my hand and started to fast-walk toward a bar. I didn't know why we were going there or even if we were going to be able to get in. I guess he knew the man who owned the bar, and once we were inside be bought me an extremely strong drink and we played pool. By 10:30 I was completely drunk out of my mind and I could barely understand what I was doing. Me and Danny slipped into a backroom and had some more to drink. We were just laying there talking about everything, and nothing at the same time when he just started to take his clothes off and kiss me. I was so drunk and so was he that it just happened, again, and again. Do you want to hear the worst part?” I gagged just thinking about what I was going to tell them next, “Afterwords I think I went out into the bar and found a group of guys and shacked up with them all.” I had to run to the bathroom after I said those words to throw up.

“I can not believe what I just heard. You can't be serious, did that all really happen?” their faces were like stone, expressionless and ridged, as they asked me questions I wasn't sure I could answer.

“i feel sick about the whole thing, obviously, and I don't know what to say to Travis. I'm just thanking god we aren't that close.” Right then everyone was called in for cardio, and I was left to think about what had happened.

I was trying to fall asleep later that night when I got a call, it was Travis and I dropped my phone in surprise. I was terrified to answer but I did anyway, “hello?”

“Hi, its me Travis, I'm waiting at the back for you,” then he hung up before I could say anything. I walked out back and there he was. He came up to me and held my hand till we got to his car and he opened my door for me. We got into the car and drove away.
