Liam's POV
I walked to class to see Crystal's head down on her desk. I tried running towards her, but a girl stopped me.
"Hi Liam." She winks at me. I looked over at Crystal, then back at the little redhead.
"I'm Brooke, like you don't know." She hugs me. I rolled my eyes at her, but returned her 'friendly' gesture.
"Alright, cool. I guess I'll see you around then." I say. She opened her mouth, but I ran towards the open spot next to the ill girl.
"What happened?" I asked her. She picked her head up.
Her eyes were red and bloodshot.
Her skin was as pale as the snowy days in the North Pole.
Her hair seemed frail.
"Hi." She smiles weakly. I rubbed my hand up and down her back, trying to comfort her.
"Why didn't you call me yesterday? I got really worried." I say as I watched her slowly put her head back down.
"I didn't have your number." She replies solemnly.
I was shocked. But I'm pretty sure Louis must've forgotten to give it.
"Oh. Well I guess Louis-"
"Louis? My brother? What does he have to do with this?" She cuts me off.
My eyes widened in shock.
"I gave him my number to give to you." I say. Her eyes slowly turned from bloodshot red, to bloodshot rage.
"Effin prick!" She screams.
Everyone's eyes turned to us, their eyes looking straight at Crystal.
"Did the little princess get a little, oh I don't know….INSANE!?" Brooke laughs. Everyone started laughing except for me.
"Well I think insane isn't even the word!" One of her friends say.
"More like a sultry, ugly, fag!" One of her other friends say.
"She's been like that!" Brooke laughs.
I looked over at Crystal and she just dipped her head down back on top of her desk. I glared at everyone, and they soon became quiet, except for Brooke.
"Oh come on Liam." She flirtatiously says.
I shook my head in disbelief and rubbed Crystal's back.
"Everyone! Settle down!!" Mr.Carli yells in the room.
*****
I helped Crystal out of the room and out into the cafeteria.
"Just…just call Louis for me." She says as she sits down at a table. I nodded as I called for Zayn to watch over her.
"Faggot!" I hear someone yell at the direction of Zayn and Crystal. I turned around to see Ivan pushing Zayn out of the way. My tracks towards the lunch line stopped, and I started running towards them.
"So princess, how'd you like to have a good time with someone that's called 'The Best'?" Ivan asks her.
I pushed him to the ground and punched him on his stomach.
"You fucking leave Crystal alone! You know very well you aren't the best because you're a damn virgin, and that you don't deserve a girl like her!" I said. Before I can punch him again, out on the corner of my eyes, I can see Crystal leaving.
Crystal's POV
The way Liam punched Ivan scared me. What if he was able to do that to me if I betrayed him or disobey? Well, not disobey him, but Zayn. He can throw punches harder than Liam.
And if I get any worse than the state I'm in right now…it can come fast.
Too fast than expected.
A tear strolled down as I buried my face on my knees.
"Cris?" I hear the familiar voice call out. I looked at the side of me and see Louis already sticking his hand out to wipe away my tears.
"What if….what if it comes soon?" I asked him. He shook his head.
"No. Don't think like that. You know it-"
"Dammit Louis! I know I'm sick! I know I'm going to die! You don't need to remind me! But what…" I slowly calmed myself down and trailed off. I looked deep at my brother's glistening eyes.
"Why didn't you give me Liam's number?" I asked him as I tried to erase the awkward silence.
"I…he…he didn't give it to me!" He defends. I rolled my eyes at him.
"I know when you're lying Lou." I say as he dipped his head.
"Just give it to me." I softly says. He looked at me and handed me the crumbled yellow paper.
"Thank you." I say as I tried to get up.
