One Million Branches

"Hey, (Y/N)." My big brother walked into my room as I worked on some homework for my college classes.

"What do you want, Austin?" I rolled my eyes at him.

"I'm inviting a few guys over." He mentioned. "All from different bands just to catch up. I'm warning you so you don't get too distracted from your work."

"Pierce the Veil coming?" I asked, lifting an eyebrow, suddenly interested.

"Uh, yeah." Austin gave me a weird look.

"You mind if I join you guys?" I asked.

"Um, sure." He shook his head, a gentle smile.

As soon as people started showing up, I managed to get my work done. I loved it when Austin would throw parties like this because then I wouldn't have to sneak Jaime through my window.

"Hi, baby." Jaime whispered  kissed my cheek as I managed to get the door for PTV before Austin could.

"Hey, (Y/N)." Vic smiled.

"What's up, girlie?" Mike patted my head. He always treated me like a little sister.

"Hey." Tony nodded at me.

"Have fun, guys!" I smiled at them as they walked deep into my house. 

"Your room?" Jaime asked.

"As always." I winked.

We made our way down the slim hallway and into my bedroom where I closed the door behind me. 

"He won't come in here, do you think?" Jaime fell back on my bed.

"Nah." I shook my head. "He has too many guests here to give a shit." I crawled over and started straddling him.

"That's good." Jaime sighed and started rocking my hips on himself.

"I've missed you." I sighed happily, feeling Jaime up.

"I've missed you, too, love." He sat up and kissed me on the nose.

"Do you think my brother will ever approve of us?" I wondered.

"I don't know...maybe when you're out of college." Jaime started kissing up and down my neck, giving me chills.

"(Y/N)?" I heard my brother calling near my door. My heart nearly stopped and my breathing hitched. The doorknob was turning.

"Don't come in here!" I shouted.

"Why?" The door was already edging open.

"I'm studying!" I squeezed my eyes shut.

"Jaime?" I heard his surprised voice as my eyes slowly opened.

"H-hey, Austin." Jaime smiled, his dimples prominent as he blushed madly.

"What the fuck are you doing?" Austin furrowed his brow. "What the fuck is he doing here?" He turned to me.

"Fuck!" I shouted, crying my eyes out as I stormed past him and ran out the door.

"(Y/N), wait!" Jaime shouted.

I looked back to find Austin blocking Jaime in front of my threshold, holding onto Austin's angry forearms with a worried look on his face. He was giving Jaime a nasty look.

I quickly climbed to the top of the tree in my front yard. It was my safe haven with it's easily climbable branches. I leaned on a branch and sobbed quietly. I didn't know what was going to happen. I loved Jaime too much.

"(Y/N)?" I heard a gentle voice about a half hour after the incident.

"J...Jaime?" I looked down, my eyes puffy and sore.

"Hey, baby." He looked up at me.

"What's going on?" I wiped my tears and edged my way down the tree.

"Austin, Mike, and I had a long talk." Jaime smiled gently at me, holding my waist to help me down.

"Mike?" I wondered what he had to do with anything.

"He backed me up that I was a nice guy." He shrugged.

"So...that means?" I wondered, my heart fluttering and realizing the worst.

"Austin needs to warm up to this...but he knows he can't just split us up." Jaime held me close in his arms. My heart continued fluttering, this time with happiness.

"It's going to be okay?" I looked up at him again for reassurance.

"You'll be okay." Jaime smiled down at me and kissed my forehead. "Let's enjoy this party together...as a couple." He started walking me inside.

"As a couple." I confirmed.
