Scene 2 a
[Lexie, Sarah and Mathew look at each other]
[A long silence]
L-In a what?
S-Did-did didn’t you hear him he’s in a gage
M-You know, a challenge.
L-Oh! What is this challenge about?
A-No, I’m engaged
L-Yeah we get that, you’re in a gage [smiles]
A-No, I mean I’m engaged, as in I have a fiancée
[Lexie keeps the smile, Sarah’s eyes go wide and Mathew bites his lip]
L-Oh! That engaged!
A-Yeah um that’s what most people talk about when they say that they’re engaged [raises eyebrows and looks at Lexie]
L-[Mutters]Well, I was hoping you weren’t like most people.
A-What?
S-She means that she thought you were unique
M-Too bad you aren’t
S-Mathew, the way you said that must make Prince Aahil misunderstand
L-What I said [glares at Sarah and Mathew] was that I just am not in the right self today, anyways, why don’t you introduce us to your fiancée she must be freaked-I mean fascinated by us
A-Oh yes, [holds the girl’s hand and brings her closer] This is my fiancée Katie
S-really? I was expecting more of an Arab name
L-Mind her, she’s been drinking…. And…you…. Have a looker [gulps] [squeaky voice and must look she’s about to cry] I hope you guys have a wonderful marriage.
L-I have to tend to something, I shall return later on and you guys enjoy the party…together
[Lexie walks away]
M-I should go help [shakes hand with Aahil and Katie]
S-Same here
[Mathew and Sarah follow the same path that Lexie walked in]
Scene 2 b
[New character added]
[Katie is the fiancée of Prince Aahil]
[Lexie’s on the balcony]
L-This is what you get for being a good person
[Sarah and Mathew come in]
S-What the hell?
L-What?
S-You just ran off
L-I’m sorry
M-That was very impolite of you Lexie
S-Who cares about that?
L-Huh?
S-You should’ve spilt the wine on Katie
L-[Laughs] That’s all you think about
M-I guess it’s too late now.
[A servant calls Lexie]
Servant-Princess Lexie, King Felix has called you inside for you have to say bye to the guests
L-But he just came
Servant-Who, your highness?
S-No one, it’s the wine
L-I’m coming
[Servant leaves]
M-Oh my god!
S-What?
M-[Glancing at Lexie] You never told me you would invite Amanda
S-[Laughs annoyingly] Amanda! I’m going to call her here she must be looking for you
L-We’re even now [smirks]
[New character added]
[Amanda Bladen]
Amanda- [Looks at Mathew and waves while jumping up]
Mathew-Noooo
Lexie- Sucks to be you huh? [Sticks out tongue]
Amanda-Oh My God, Mathew!
M-Hi [whispers] Can I go die?
Amanda-Oh my God You are so hot right now, we didn’t see each other for a long time!
M-I can see why
S-Why don’t you guys use the last moments of this party to talk
A-Yeah! Let’s go Mathew
M-It’s okay
A-[Grits teeth] Let’s go
M-Sure! Whatever you say
L-[Laughs]
[Mathew leaves with Amanda clinged on his arm]
S-So, you sure must be upset huh Lex?
L-Well…Yeah I-I liked him now he’s getting married and I stood there like an idiot
S-There’s plenty of more fish on the sea [Smile showing teeth]
L-Keep telling yourself and one day you’ll end up wanting that same fish
S-[sigh] yeah but until then….
S-Come on, here’s a hug
L-[gasp] Sarah’s giving me a hug, oh my god
S-Shut up
[Pulls Lexie in for a hug]
