This happened a long time ago, a long time ago, shortly after the creation of the world. In a small village surrounded by dense forests, a young girl lived with her parents. Unfortunately, the sources do not give her name, but it is known that she was very wise and clever, and at the same time extremely beautiful and attractive.

Once upon a time, at a pale dawn, the woman went to the forest to pick mushrooms. She barely managed to leave the village, cross the field and deepen between the trees, the cruel wind broke up, and the rain streams poured out of the sky. Looking for shelter from the downpour, the girl stopped under a wide tree. And as the day was getting up warm and sunny, she thought of taking off her clothes and hiding them in a mushroom basket, so that it would not get wet. As she decided, and having undressed herself naked, she carefully folded her clothes and hid them under the tree in a basket.

After some time, when the rain stopped falling, the wise girl dressed up and plunged into the forest in search of mushrooms. Suddenly a furry goat with pitch-haired black hair and wet from the rain came out from behind one of the trees, which after a while turned into a ragged old man with a long, grey beard. The girl's heart was beaten faster, as she recognized in the old man Weles, the god of magic, supernatural phenomena and the hereafter. Don't be afraid," said Weles, noticing the fear in her beautiful dark eyes.

"I just wanted to ask you a question - what spells did you use to stay dry during such a downpour that has just swept over the forest?

The wise woman, thinking for a moment, answered: "If you tell me the secrets of your magic, I'll tell you how I didn't let the downpour get wet.

Impressed by her beauty and charm, Weles agreed to teach her all his magical arts. When the day was about to go west, Weles ended up entrusting the beautiful girl with secrets, and she told him how she took off her clothes, put them in the basket and hid them under the tree as soon as the downpour broke out.

Weles realized that he had been cleverly deceived, but he was furious. He could

but to blame only oneself. And a young woman, thus learning the secrets

Weles, became the first witch in the world, who with time could pass on her knowledge to others.
