I quickly made my way through the hallway to my locker where Ashton and Luke already waited. "You've missed the first lesson. Where were you?" Luke asked, his eyebrow raised.

"My phone alert didn't ring." I mumbled and took a few books out of my baby blue locker. "Typical." Ashton laughed which let a smirk grow on my face.

We made our way to our second period. Music was one of the subjects I loved and I would say enjoyed. Everyone was already in his seats so the only free places were in the second row.

"Because of you we have to sit in the second row." Ashton groaned.

Luke just shrugged and took his seat at the window, Ashton right beside him. I didn't notice that there were only two free seats left in the second row so I quickly glanced around and spotted the last free seat in the last row.

"I guess I'll have to sit in the last row then." I mumbled to myself. I made my way through the class and slippped on the seat next to the grey classroom wall.

"Hi Calum." A voice said beside me and I immediately knew who sat right next to me.

Hey Michael." I said awkwardly back.

Our teacher was talking about an important project that we had to do this year. "Everyone needs to write a song which he will perform after the spring holidays." He explained. I immediately looked to Luke and Ashton who gave me a knowing nod.

"You can work together as a band or if you want to you can also sing a duet with someone. You have time till next week to pick a song and decide with who you want to do this." He said and I smiled at the thought of working with Luke and Ashton together.

"So um do you have a partner for this in your mind already?" Michael shily asked from beside me.

"I was going to do this with Ash and Luke." I answered while packing my things together.

"Oh ok." He gave me one last nod before he made his way out of the classroom. I stared a bit confused at the door and shook my head.

"We're are going to be the best band they've ever had at this stupid school." Luke said with a really deep and serious voice.

Ashton let out a soft chuckle while I tried to focus on my biology book. Normally I  wasn't that kind of student who was always learning but I really didn't want to fail one of the most important exams this year.

"So when do we practice and which song do we pick?" Ashton asked.

"I think we should meet at Calums place." Luke suggested. "If that would be okay." He quickly added.

"Um yeah sure. 3pm?" I answered and closed my book. They both nodded.

"Cal why is Michael staring at you?" Ashton seriously asked and pointed in the direction where Michael was sitting. I turned around to face him but he just smiled and turned away, starting a new conversation with the boy on his right.

"I have no idea. He acted a bit different in music today because I told him I would do the project with you two." I shrugged.

"Maybe he has a little crush on you. I mean you we're best friends a few years ago." Luke told me, a small smirk on his lips.

I blushed a bit. "Why don't we just ask him to join our project." Ashton suggested.

"Sounds like a plan." Luke chuckled and stood up ready to leave the cafeteria. Ashton following him.

"Wait do I have to ask?" I groaned. Ashton turned around a small and innocent smile on his lips. "Maybe."

I looked to the place where Michael was sitting. This time he wasn't staring. He was talking to one of his popular friends. I didn't even know how Michael became one of the cool kids at our school, it just happened. I decided I would ask him the next day or when we had music again.

After two more hours school was finally over. I waited for Ashton and Luke because I really didn't want to walk alone. After ten minutes of waiting they finally decided to leave school and we walked home together.

"So did you ask Michael?" Ashon asked smirking.

"No I haven't. I didn't want to talk with him near his cool new friends who hate me." I said with a small and sad smile.

"But Michael doesn't hate you." Luke tried to cheer me up.

What would Luke and Ashton say if I would tell them I had a crush on Michael since we were best friends.

"Yeah, whatever. See you tomorrow." With this words I walked to my front door. I gave them one last smile which they returned.

"I'm home." I yelled and walked in our living room where I found my Mum reading a book. "How was school Sweetie?" She asked sweetly. "Um it was alright. We have do to this project in music where we have to perform a song." I answered smiling. "I guess you're going to do this with Luke, Ashton and Michael?" "Mum we didn't ask Michael yet. We aren't that close anymore. Forgot that Mum?" I reminded her. "Oh right but I think it would be a really great idea. You're all talented and I bet you would sound great together. Just think about it" She said giving me a smile.

"Alright I'll think about it."

So I know this first chapter took so long and I don't know what to think about it. Anyways I hope you liked it. And I changed a thing Michael is the popular guy from school not Calum I thought it would fit better. Also sorry for mistakes. See you :-)
