6:07 AM AUGUST 31, SATURDAY, I awoke with the sound of my mother and sister’s surprise. I nearly fell off my bed when my dreams were disturbed by a party popper. My eyes shot up seeing strips of Japanese paper and some colourful confetti fall from the air, slowly descending on top of my covers. Slowly, my gaze fell on both of them. They held a small smile and greeted me a Happy birthday.

“18 years, Solene! My have you grown to be a lady! I love you so much!” Mom cried and threw her arms around me. She gave me kisses on my cheeks, as well as my sister.

"Dad's proud to have you reach this part of your life..." mom whispered as she lingered on our hugs. I nodded and held them tighter.

Then they brought me breakfast in bed with my most favourite food: Cordon Bleu, toasted bread with melted cheese on top, and lastly, fresh milk. I held them close to me both and shared my breakfast with two of my world’s greatest people.

Next came Joan and Mich. Mother had them inside my bedroom while they did the chores since I was free for most of it. They both gave me new books and a new set of venzi blank- paged notebooks for writing and doodling. I was so happy for having both of them. “Thank you, you two! Both of you are the best” I opened my arms to hug them both but they moved away. “Abuhbup! We’re not done yet” They winked.

Then they gave me a weird request: Dress up in the best looking dress possible... because I had a date with Ethan. I nearly choked on the fresh milk.

After my breakfast, they forced me in the shower, and practically did everything for me from the choosing of the dress to thehairstyling.“OH GOSH SOL, THIS WILL BE SO ROMANTIC!” Mich screamed and started combing my hair while Joan browsed my closet for dresses, making sure that I looked perfect today. I groaned. I'm not sure if this day will ever be perfect considering that I still have one problem left to solve. As embarrassing as it sounds, all I've been thinking about was Greyson and what I did to make him act that way towards me.

After an hour of fixing my hair, I finally got my feet ready with heels.

“Have fun Solene!” Mom exclaimed. It seems like she was part of the plan.

“Anyway, where are we going?” I asked both of them when they started accompanying me to the train station. “Oh you’ll see…” their grin grew wider than a crescent.

When we finally met up with Ethan, who was by the way so handsome in his polo shirt, and styled hair, they left me in care of him while they went back to prepare something else.

“Shall we go?” Ethan gave a princely bow before escorting me to the destination.

We stopped by the museum Greyson and I visited a week ago. I stared at the walls. They were different now. It had been filled with my memories of the things Greyson and I did there. I was trying to cheer him up, too.

This time, it would be hard though, trying to focus on Ethan while we walked around the museum. I can tell he was bored and was rather doing this because these were the things I liked. Lunch came and we ate at the diner in France’s section, and had all the French cuisines. We ate and had a few small talks. Soon after, Ethan said we’d take a picture together, in which I hesitated to accept.

When we had dessert, Ethan ordered for Gelato. That sort of made me think about Greyson. I looked back at Ethan... I hoped he was in the listening mood.

“Ethan… I have a problem.” I began silently praying that I won’t make this awkward for him. He furrowed his brows and leaned closer, “Is it Greyson?” he guessed. I just nodded silently. Was I that obvious?

“Well…he’s been ignoring me for quite a while now, and I’m afraid I might have done something wrong against him.” I added. My eyes were suddenly interested on my ice cream.
