"My bodies failing I think i've hit the floor, I can not feel anything anymore."

Austin screamed

I jumped out of bed. My heart racing, searching for my phone frantically. As I adjusted my vision I saw mine and Austin's face on the phone screen.

It was a picture of him kissing my forehead. His arms around my waist and mine around his neck. My fingers tangle in his old long hair, he smiled under the kiss and I smiled, looking at the ground. A small blush creeping on my cheeks was visible because my hair wasn't in my face

I answered his call

"Anna."

He chocked out his words

"Austin..? Austin are you okay ?"

He cleared his throat before talking again.

"I'm in the hospital Anna."

My breath got caught by the ball that was forming in my throat

"H-hosp... why..?"

I tried swallowing to push the stubborn lump down.

"I went into cardiac arrest on stage. My heart was racing and then I blacked out. Anna, I was clinically dead for an hour. The EMS were trying to resuscitate me for an hour."

He cried

"I'm scared, Anna.. My heart hasn't been like this since the day I found out I had to get surgery... I need you."

"Where are you ?"

I wiped my tears away standing up and heading to my closet to find my sweatshirt and put it over my tank top.

" Beaumont.. The one in Royal Oak."

"I'm coming Austin. Stay strong okay? You'll be okay. Okay ?"

Sticking my phone in my hoodies pocket I slung the Bluetooth around my neck grabbed my keys, my purse and ran out the door. I ran down the stair of the condo, hurrying down to my black Audi A4. I sped to the hospital, as soon as I got my car in park I gathered my belongings and ran inside to the lady at the front desk.

"Austin Carlile"

I smiled at her. Wiping the stray tears on my cheeks, regaining my breath, and trying to calm my anxiety.

The lady at the desk, a ginger gal, around the age of 30, had light bags under her eyes, very little makeup, beautiful, but something has gotten her and eaten her alive, her face tells me she's not who she's was before. She ran her long spider like fingers on the keyboard and squinted a bit before looking back at me

"Mr.Carlile, is a patient in room 313."

She smiled, with her mouth, yet not her eyes. The smile creating small wrinkles around her eyes and mouth, I nodded, flashing her a smile and ran to the open elevator and pushed the little number 3. I crouched down in the corner of the elevator closing my eyes tight listening to the elevator music and the slow ticks that seemed to drag on forever. As soon as I heard the doors open I pushed myself up from the glossy floor and made my way to Austin's room. Screw my fear of elevators. I knocked on the door that read 313 and opened it up my arms shaking from fear of what i'll see and my knees about to give in from running and from how cold I was in these shorts. I stepped inside and took my gaze off the floor. Austin looked directly at me. His smile, pained, not forced, but pain was easily read in his eyes and spread all over him. Discoloration in his angelic face drained his freckles. I tried to smile back, but how could I ? Tubes and needles poked his arms everywhere. The heart monitor picked up as I walked closer to him. I smiled as I sat in the chair next to him. He moved his hand to touch mine his heart monitor, notifying me that his heart started up again, as well as mine. Only mine wasn't quite as audible as his.

"Well fuck heart monitors."

He grumbled under his breath.

"How are you feeling?"

Concern coating my words.

"Like death." He sighed

I leaned in and kissed his forehead

"Austin, you're pretty hot."

" I know" he gave me a wink

"Not what I meant. You have a fever."

My voice stern. Concerned about him.

There was a knock at the door.

"Hello, I'm Mark Denton. I will be your doctor for the rest of the time you will be staying at Beaumont. Since you went into cardiac arrest so suddenly, i'd prefer if you could stay for a few more nights. Just in till we receive the previous test results. We will need more blood samples. And possibly a few scans. Only bad news is if you will not be capable of recovering, and wont be able to do what you normal do Mr.Carlile, we will need to preform a second surgery."

He spoke rapidly and fluently his caramel thick voice making his words roll off his tongue perfectly. I looked over at Austin, the little color he had left was drained from his face at the words of "Your next surgery." I nodded for him sending Dr.Denton out of the room as quickly as he had entered. Quick long strides, his doctor jacket flapping behind him. I gave Austin's hand a quick squeeze to make him look at me.

"Get some sleep okay? Jet lagged maybe? Tired from everything ? I'll be right here when you wake up."

"Please just call Kristy, tell her what's happening. "

"No problem"

I whispered as he fell asleep.

Ah, Kristy Avery. The beautiful, fake boobs, fake ass, Play Mate. Money maker, guy magnet. Jealousy fills my veins as soon as her trashy name slips out of someones mouth. She's Austin's girlfriend, for a year now. Totally 'in love', head over heals for each other. (Gag)

I took out my phone and searched for Kristy's number.

"Kristy."

Her pitchy voice blandly answered after some rings.

"Hi Kristy, Austin's in the hospital. He's okay now, but the doctors said they want to keep him over night and stuff just to make sure he's okay and his heart's alright and what not."

"Wait, who is this ?"

"Anna."

"Ohhh, so, he's okay right?"

"Yeah, he'll be fine."

"So, will I be picking him up ?"

"I can.. You don't have to.."

"Oh, okay"

And with that she hung up leaving me furious.
