Lexa took out a notebook and began writing down the notes, having small exchanges with Anna, her newfound witch in training friend. "Hey, look at this." Anna whispered, taking out a pencil. Anna zapped the pencil with magic and it then grew legs, it then walked off the desk and clattered on the ground. While Lexa was contemplating screaming in terror or dying of laughter, a noxious odor filled her nose, it was the familiar smell of tobacco. She whipped her head to the side and saw a girl, smoking near the window of the back row. Lexa was stunned.
"Oh, you noticed Umbra huh? I just remembered why I don't like sitting here," Anna told her, "she's a bully and acts like a stereotypical popular girl. She's either skipping class, or smoking and not paying attention." Lexa and Anna continued their work, trying to ignore the terrible smell. Finally, the class ended, and they continued with their other 2 classes. The lunch bell rang, and Anna led Lexa to the cafeteria. While they were eating their lunch, another human girl walked up to their table and caught the attention of Lexa. "Excuse me, are you the girl that dragon caught earlier?" The girl asked.
"Yeah, was it the dragon?" Lexa responded. "It was, and you better not do it again!" The girl said in an aggressive tone. Then, the dragon from earlier bud into the conversation as a voice of reason. "Babe, c'mon, I just kept her from falling! It wasn't her fault she fell, if I didn't catch her she'd crack her head on the concrete!" The dragon said. Before the girl could say anything else, the dragon pushed her away to a different lunch table. The two finished their lunches, but before they could get up from their seats, someone rushed up to sit in front of them.
It was Umbra, and she sat down in front of the two and stabbed a switchblade into the table. "What do you want, Umbra?" Anna said in an unenthusiastic tone. Lexa was too focused on the switchblade, she didn't know what she was gonna use it for, but it creeped her out. "Are you gonna going to the crypt tonight?" Umbra asked, spinning the switchblade in her hand. "What's the crypt?" Lexa questioned. "It's a nightclub near the school that people go to. And no Umbra, I'm not, I'm staying with the new girl tonight."
"Oh, so this is the new girl?" Umbra said, pointing her switchblade to Lexa's neck. Lexa's heartbeat went from normal, to dangerously fast. As it should in this situation. "WellIt'sAlmostTimeForOurNextClassBye" Anna said as one word, in a rushed, scared tone. Anna grabbed Lexa's arm, and using her witch magic, she teleported them out of there.
