"I'm so fucking tired", Violet said as they made it to her dorm. She and Clem were going to share a bed tonight because Clementine didn't want to be anywhere that reminded her of AJ which Violet understood and of course said yes, not that she needed an excuse to cuddle with Clem at night.

"Yeah, your not the only one", Clem said with a small chuckle. Shes been trying not to let herself be alone or in a quiet room, she didn't want her thoughts to consume her. She was really thankful that she had Violet. She too was where Violet was, she wasn't sure if she loved her but she knew that she cared about a lot.

"How you feeling?", Violet asked her quietly as she pulled her boots off. She was worried, Clem wasn't being as talkative as she usually was, she was being more distant and everyone could see it but they didn't say anything.

"I...I don't know", Clementine said honestly, at this point she just wanted to try and sleep but she can't see that happening without one of her, almost, nightly nightmares. No one except for AJ knew about her nightmares, but shes sure Violet will find out soon enough.

"Well, no matter how you feel I'm always going to be here for you", Violet said with a warm smile, that Clementine couldn't help but return.

"I know", Clementine said and then leaned in a kissed her softly. She knew one thing for sure she was going to try her damn hardest not to let anything happen to her.

And Violet felt the same.

It was morning now and Violet was just waking up, she was about to get up but stopped when she felt a weight on her, but calmed down when she realized that it was only Clementine, sleeping peacefully, with her arms wrapped around Violet's waist, head on her chest as she slept soundly.

Violet didn't move, she didn't want to wake her up, knowing that she's been having a hard time sleeping. Clementine never told her directly, but you can see it in her features, the big bags under her eyes, the somewhat slow movements, always yawning and rubbing her eyes, anyone would be able to tell if she was tired or not. Knowing this she relaxed back into the bed and stroked her fingers through Clementines curly, messy hair.

Violet hadn't realized it until she was being woken up a frantic Clem that she had fallen asleep again, she was startled awake by Clem who was sobbing softly while moving around, she was in a cold sweat and looked terrified from what Violet could see. She didn't know what was happening so she just decided to do the only thing she thought she could do, wake her up.

She moved Clementine's head from off her chest and started to shake her softly, repeating her name a few times until she calmed down. Clementine opened her eyes looking up at a very concerned Violet and before Violet could say anything Clem jumped up and threw her arms around Violet and started sobbing even louder then she was before into her shoulder.

Violet didn't know what to do so she just wrapped her arms around Clementine's waist and pulled her closer to her and started humming 'Don't be afraid' while rocking them back and forth ever so slightly.

Once Clem had calmed down she pulled away and looked at Violet. Violet felt heartbroken, Clem looked so vulnerable and scared, she'd never seen the girl like that before and frankly, it scared her.

"Hey, you're okay, I'm here", Violet spoke in a soft, calming voice, as she wiped away her tears with the pads of her thumbs. Clementine visibly relaxed and leaned into Violet's hand.

"I'm sorry, didn't mean to wake you", her voice was hoarse as she spoke, from having just woken up and the from all the crying she's done.

"No need to apologize", Violet still spoke in that soft tone she used before, "like I told you before, I'm here if you need me, doesn't matter when or where I will be there", Violet spoke with such confidence that she even surprised herself.

"Thank you, Violet, for everything", Clementine told her. She was so thankful to have Violet she didn't think I was possible.

"No need to thank me, Clem, I really care about you and will always be there", Violet replied. It didn't feel right to her, getting thanked when she did nothing but be there.

"Was it a nightmare?", Violet questioned after a moment of silence. She didn't know if Clem got nightmares, but that was the only logical answer she could come up with for the way Clem was a few minutes ago.

After a small amount of silence, where Violet thought she overstepped a boundary and started apologizing profusely, was cut off by Clem."Violet", Clementine cut her off with a little chuckle, "You didn't do anything... I just....i'm not used to it", she admitted.

"Not used to what?", Violet questioned, very confused as to what Clem was getting to.

"People....caring. I've had people care about me, but.....not like you do.", she clarified for her. Sure shes had people care a lot about her, but with Violet, it was....different, but in a good way. And that is exactly what she told her."I've had people care about me a lot before Vi, but you, you care a whole hell of a lot more than some people did. The way you care about me is......different, but I a good way, a very good way."

"Really?", is all Violet could ask. She was at a loss for words, she knew that she cared for Clem and that Clem cared for her, but she didn't realize until now that Clementine was just as, if not more, fucked up then any of the school kids combined. She knows the girl had been through a lot of groups and that she's seen some shit, but her admitting that made her feel weak, Clementine was her weakness. That's when she realized that she did, in fact, love Clementine with all her heart. She just had to find out if Clem felt the same.
