Please Don't leave (Violentine)

Chapter 9

She remembers the explosion, flying backwards and hitting the wall, the cries and screams echoing through the forest as the boat began sinking and she remembers the heat, the heat of the flames on her skin, the sweat rolling down her forehead and eventually the tears, the tears being shed for the little boy that she lost, the sound of the knife being inserted and pulled out of his head and then the familiar feeling of hopelessness sinking into her gut, the same way it did when she killed the one person who she had always looked after her. And then she feels warm, the warmth of something pressed against her, the feeling of hope, and then, "Clementine!?", "Clementine, wake up!".

She shoots awake in a cold sweat, looking around frantically, trying to find the source of the voice. Suddenly a warm hand grabs hers and she looks to her left to see Violet with a concerned expression. "Hey, you're alright, your alright." Violet soothes her, but it does nothing as she turns around fully around and cuddles into Violet and starts quietly sobbing, Violet who is slightly shocked, immediately wraps her arms around Clementine trying her best to calm her down.

This has been happening a lot lately, they go to bed and about an hour or two later Clem starts to have a nightmare and is awoken by Violet and then ends up crying into her shoulder, and it's no better when she's awake, when Clementine is actually awake and not hiding in Violet's dorm, because she refuses to go into her old one with AJ, snaps at everyone, whenever she is actually awake and out and about no one says anything to her in fear of angering her.

Clementine feels horrible about it all, but she can't help it, she was so angry and so sad and she needed a way to get it out, she figures that that is her way. The only person she didn't lash out on was Violet, her being one of the few things keeping her sane.

There's just one thing Clementine had become sloppy with protecting herself and the others around her, that's one thing she misses about being alone not having to look after anyone else, just your self.

Which is why in a few weeks Clementine was going to leave, she knew Violet and everyone else would tell her otherwise, but she didn't want to get any of them killed and she knew she was going to if she stayed.

"Hey, Clem, it's our turn to go hunting", Ruby told her carefully, not wanting to get yelled at, she understood why Clementine was acting like this, but she sure as hell didn't like it.

"Yeah, whatever, I'll meet you at the gate in, like five minutes?", She asked.

"Yeah, see you in a few", Ruby replied."Oh and Violet is coming with us, just to let you know". And with that, she left to go to the gate.

They had just left Clementine, Violet and Ruby and Louis because he wanted to tag along, they had already checked a few traps when they heard groaning coming from the distant, what they saw made their faces goes pale and they have nothing but fear in their eyes.
