ROUND 1: SCENE 1

Blackstreak flicked his tail. He gazed at the cats around the clearing, wishing he could be hunting in the shade of the oak trees that surrounded the Rocky camp. He decided to stop being lazy and do something for once. He grumbled as he padded down the sloping stone slab. As soon as his apprentice, Birdpaw, received his warrior name, he was going to retire to the elders den.

"Birdpaw! Come on! Let's go hunting!" He meowed to Birdpaw, who was jumping around his obviously annoyed father, Icethroat.

"Ok!! Coming, Blackstreak!"

He gave his father one last playful nip before bounding after his mentor. Blackstreak wondered if Birdpaw would ever stop acting like a kit. He was almost six moons old by now.

The pair padded through the shady forest. Suddenly, Birdpaw hissed at Blackstreak. "I smell a rabbit!!"

He could barely contain his excitement.

Blackstreak chuckled to himself. "Ok then, you know what to do!"

Birdpaw nodded eagerly and and slid under a bush, tracking the rabbit.

Blackstreak noticed the smell of another cat. He was worried for a moment, but then waved it off. Froststar just probably sent out the morning patrols. Yet, something was off...

He heard a sudden cry followed by the smell of blood. At first, he thought Birdpaw had caught the rabbit. But if he had, he would have brought it back to him, right?

He followed the metallic scent his heart beating faster with every careful paw step. He pushed himself the bush and cried out in sadness and fear. There lay his nephew and apprentice, dead, surrounded by a pool of blood and covered in small claw marks. He knelt beside the still warm body, an expression of terror plaster to the poor cats face. What was Icethroat going to say?

He buried his face into the young toms fur as a patrol burst through the bushes, led by Moonheart.

"What's going on here-" shouted Moonheart, cut off by a wail from Icethroat, who was standing behind the deputy's mate.

"Birdpaw! No...." The black tom rushed to his kit's side.

Sandpaw and her mentor, Emberfoot, helped carry the bloody body back to the camp. The clan gathered around the body of their precious clanmate. Suddenly, Ashfall broke the mournful silence with a snarl.

"I accuse...
