love who you love and check on your friends
text them to come over, go sit on your bed
talk there for hours, paint the sun in their head
lace them with love and do everything you can
shattered are the strong ones
love them with without ends

one thing I've learned is to never look back
tell mom you love her and dad you love him
don't turn around and keep your head up love
the only days promised are ones that hold us

know lying will cause more pain than the truth
tell them what happened your parents love you
your mom needs her baby, dad will pick you up
a phone call away until the second they're not

people you're given are the people to protect
the more you love them the more words affect
listen to small things and the paths they take
love, love then love them until they're okay

you can't save lives in 150 characters or less
talk in person, tell your friends you need them
weave words over sadness, be their safe haven
hug them, [the kind when you can't breathe in]

take a moment to look up from your screen
pick out each hue from red on to green
breathe the rays when they're waving goodbye
then paint from the palette of ethereal skies
canvas your love and canvas your pain
both of each come from minds worth pertain
-life doesn't seem like what life really is
