Jamie's P.O.V

My mother looked at me after reading the address. "What or who the hell is Extremos you little girl!?" My mother said with a sharp glare in her eye. "I don't know mum. I have no idea what that means" I tried to explain but she didn't listen. She tore open the note and read it. Once her eyes had glazed over the whole paper she did it again. And again. And another few times before she looked at me. She read the content of the paper one last time before speaking once more. "Go pack your things. You're leaving in two weeks" That's the whole explanation and I had no idea what's going on.

I ran up the stairs at my mothers harsh look but didn't make it to my room. Curiosity seeped into my brain as my mother left the living room. I snuck as quickly and quietly as I could down the stairs and into the previously occupied room. I grabbed the note and made my way to my room. I closed the door as soon as my whole body was in. I grabbed a suitcase and threw it onto the bed as I unfolded the note. The contents surprised me, I had to read it a few times like my mum did.

Dear Miss J. Parker,

We are very excited to tell you that there is an opening in Extremos; school for EXTREME!!! Wizards and Witches. The spot is for you only as you are the witch/wizard of your family tree. First in a century. On the back of this paper is a list of necessities for the year ahead of you. Pets are optional. Please put a piece of paper saying if you will agree to come to this school as a new person, inside of the envelope. Please leave it on your doorstep and it will be gone by the next morning. We hope you will come and join us as a prestigious guest.

Sincerely, A. Moran, B. Cloney, L. Van Staden and S. Howes-Carter, your head mistresses.

I stared at the note. Me? A witch or wizard? And they used Jamie as my name instead of Rosa. That's a first. My mum really wants me to go? Is it because she thinks it's good for me or because she wants to get rid of me. Most likely the second one. I looked at my empty suitcase on the bed. Did I really want to go though? I would be leaving my hometown. My mother. My friends... well it wouldn't be so bad leaving my 'friends'. I ran my gaze over the note one last time before making a decision. I hopped off of the bed I somehow got myself on.

I looked through my wardrobe, my shelves, everything. I was going to go. My mother wanted me gone. My friends left me. What has this town done for me anyway? If I was gonna leave this place however, I would want to make the new place feel like home. Well, my peaceful room. I was pretty sure I'd be back eventually for spring but at least most of my time would be occupied by... what was it, magic? I zipped up the last of my stuff. I was ready. Yes I wouldn't be leaving for another two weeks but, at least I had a new future ahead.

I opened my bedroom door and made my way down the stairs. I peeked into the kitchen to see my mother making waffles. That's more surprising than getting a letter from Extremos. Now that I thought about it, this situation was a little like Harry Potter. "What are those for mum?" I asked the woman who responded without even a glance at me. "Well they're for you and me to share. You get to go to this new school and that's exciting" I slowly took a seat at the table, skeptical on why my mother was handing over waffles when she never made them. "Plus, I get to have 9 months without you so, just another reason to celebrate" There it was. She wouldn't be letting me leave if this just benefited me.

Mum placed a plate of freshly made waffles in front of me. "You all packed Rosa?" She asked me. I nodded in response, seeing as I couldn't talk with the waffles in my mouth.

The next two weeks went in a blur. A wizard came by and took me shopping for the necessities and a pet Phoenix. I got my wand as well. This place was gonna be different. I could tell. The next thing I know is that I'm sitting in my robes on the 1st of February. On a trip to happiness...
