I've already messaged Lizzy and told her not to worry about a date today because I've found one of my own on findyourlifelonglover.com. Lizzy was a bit disappointed because she reckons she has 'the one' waiting and ready to go but I told her 'the one' will just have to wait another night.
I feel like I'm in with a really good shot with this guy. He messaged me first and I was just so thankful that he seemed to be nothing like 'Thewomandestroyer93.'
Lonelyboy1: Hi Ava! I must say you have a lovely smile.
Avababy99: Thank you so much! What's your name?
Lonelyboy1: It's Samuel.
Avababy99: Well it's lovely to meet you Samuel.
Lonelyboy1: Look. I know this may seem a little forward, but I was wondering if you would like to go out sometime?
Avababy99: That would be great! I would love to! How about dinner at Food for the People?
Lonelyboy1: Sure thing! I'll meet you there. I'll be wearing a blue scarf.
Avababy99: And I'll have a red rose!
Lonelyboy1: Haha. Sure thing Ava. See you at 6 p.m.
Why did I say I would have a rose? Who says that? Why didn't I just say I would be wearing the purple jacket, or I'd be the one sitting all by herself at a reserved table for two? Anything would have been better than I'll have a red rose. And why did I have to specify the colour? Like seriously. I honestly test myself sometimes and it really makes me wonder how some people deal with me. Mental note, write an apology letter to everyone I've ever spoken to.
I'm waiting out in the front yard for Lizzy to show up since now we have to go find me a rose. I hear footsteps and see Grace powerwalking towards me.
"Hey Ava, sorry you get me as a substitute today. Lizzy was just about to leave then all of a sudden, she threw up everywhere. And by everywhere, I mean everywhere. I was just going to call and cancel for her but she insisted it is absolutely necessary that you find a rose and she said she couldn't trust you to do the job yourself so... You get me instead!" She smiles at me.
"That sounds about right. No problem, I got the better of the two anyway," I wink at her. She lends me a hand and helps pull me up off of the grass.
"So where to?" she questions.
"I have absolutely no idea but I figure someone around here has to have red roses in their garden," I say while pulling out a pair of scissors. Grace shakes her head laughing at me and we head off down the road.
An hour later and we still haven't found a red rose.
"What is wrong with people?" I yell into the sky. "Pink roses, white roses, even yellow roses but do you think we can find a red rose, no."
"Maybe we should just buy a rose?" Grace says while kicking a rock she found a while back.
"Ha ha. No way. That's exactly what they want us to do. But I'm not falling for it. Nope. You can't fool me world." I yell, making a fist to the sky.
"Who are you even talking about?" Grace laughs.
"I don't know but there is clearly someone up there who is trying to mess up all my plans. Like they have a set of cards and the only one they keep playing is the joker. Well guess what. I'm not a joker!" I say returning my attention to the sky.
"I swear, you and Liz are exactly the same," Grace laughs to herself.
"I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing." I respond.
